Are Reggie Jackson or Isiah Thomas a possibility?

I hope we pass on both of them. I really hope Reggie Jackson never ends up in a Lakers jersey. I think the guy is highly overrated

Suns are about to get worked. Can not figure out what they were thinking....oh yeah they were worried that Dragic and the other guy would leave so they stockpiled at Guard. Can't wait to read the headlines tomorrow - Suns trade Dragic to Lakers for HOU pick and Lin.

No deal unless they include their other brothers, Poran, Coran and Boran

Love how PHX had the guts to 'ask' for Clarkson and the lakers to remove protection from the pick. Signals weakness. If the lakers got Dragic, PHX should not be worried about the protections on that pick.

I don't think getting dragic coming to the Lakers will translate into that many wins. Hes a complimentary player not a superstar.

    Johnnyboy,

I agree with you, I just like seeing them squirm. In fact, I am concerned about offering Dragic too much money out of our own desperate effort to turn the page. Carmelo Anthony proves this point. Thank you New York for taking him off our hands.

He hung around the #9 spot on the nba.com MVP Ladder last season. & he's out to prove he can "run his own team like Steph Curry", & he's seeking a max contract. I definitely think he could ruin our chances at a top 5 pick, depending on what other moves we make. Which is why I'd prefer removing the protection from the pick & asking for more assets if we trade for him vs. giving up all of our other assets like the Houston 1st, Clarkson, expiring contracts & then still probably not getting to keep the pick.

    LakersN4,

What else do you want from PHX? Green and Plumlee? I say Nah. Let PHX sweat it out and we keep our pick and sign him this summer and use Clarkson (if he develops) as trade bait after we see where our pick lands. I like that Jordan is working out with Nash, I think we hold Clarkson and tell PHX to trade him to a team like the C Bags if they think they can get more than HOU pick, Lin, and filler from us for him.

I would hope we don't consider Reggie Jackson. He put up 19 & 7 as a starter with the highest Usage % in the league. Those are impressive numbers but considering the Usage #'s he isn't likely to match that production on a good team. Also he turned down a 4 year 48M contract, & unless he starts putting up 20 & 9 on lower usage, he isn't worth more than that.

IT on the other hand, I'm still very interested in. I know the knocks on him; he's a selfish shoot-first PG, he turns the ball over too much, he's too small to be effective on defense, he doesn't try hard enough on defense to be effective even if he had the size, he runs teammates out of town (Tyreke, Dragic).

But I also know the positives about him; when he got starter minutes he put up 20/6 on decent efficiency. Despite putting up better numbers than Reggie Jackson, he accepted a much smaller 4 year 27M contract. Of the 3 years remaining on his contract, his cap hit declines each year - 6.9, 6.5, 6.2. I'm sure a lot of us have heard the stories about how he grew up a Laker fan & it's his dream to be a Laker, also a huge Kobe fan so there would be no conflict with him playing next to Kobe in his final year(s) & he would likely be very receptive to every bit of advice Kobe gives him to improve the team. I know some think that 20/6 season was just putting up numbers on a bad team but he did that playing next to Cousins & half a season next to Gay. IMO that's more impressive than what Jackson did with Westbrook & Durant out & we could see him give us that type of production if he's given heavy minutes. Of the PG's we're involved in rumors with, he's also younger than both Dragic & Lawson at 25. I wish there was some way Dragic could repair his relationship with Phx because I think we could get IT for much less in trade, & he would give us much more room to build a team with his extremely cap friendly deal.

@soutbaylakers72 Yes I would ask for Plumlee, but not Green since he'll be a free agent. Instead I'd try to get Ennis. I know they're highly unlikely to part with Tucker or Len so that's probably the best we could ask for. Plumlee looked very good before they started featuring Len & Ennis could give us a solid backup PG to groom for the future.

So now Dragic has put out there that having the option to offer a 5th year means nothing to him and he flat-out will not sign with any team not on his list (Mia/NY/LA). The Suns were attempting to trade him to a team that is offering more assets like Sac, Hou, or Indy. Those teams would do a deal in the hopes that over the summer being able to offer a 5th year would entice him to sign with them even though they weren't on his original list. Can't see any of those teams dealing for him now unless they give up hardly anything, it's just too big of a risk. And this is after Dragic already blasted the Suns organization in the media!

Suns owner Sarver is angry (rightfully) because Dragic has completely torpedoed his trade value, so if and when the Suns do deal him they will get pennies on the dollar. So now the Suns are playing the only card they have left: just refusing to trade him period. He has done everything he can to not only get out of PHX but to kill his trade value at the same time...imagine how awkward it's going to be if he isn't traded!

karma is b, Sarver, but you knew that already when you refused a first rounder for Pau, effectively missing the play-offs.

No one will trade with the Suns, Mitch has them by the balls, accept our second round pick with Lin or lose him for nothing.

I think those are bogus rumors. Sarver trying to find shadow trade partners to match the Lakers "pursuit" of Lawson. At least Pau's agent did not make Pau a cancer to the team when lakers were shopping him. PHX ends up with very little for Dragic. Getting Hardaway Jr. and Calderon makes no sense. Picks would be the Philly way of making trades (can see why MIA would do it but think that makes PHX weaker in Western Conference this year not stronger). Trade with lakers for a big man that can be spun into another deal (or Jordan Hill coming home story) makes more sense.
