This thread is dedicated to discussion about the Lakers offense. what pays work, what pays don't and the philosophy behind it.

First is an excellent video interview from LFR with Alex Caruso about how he runs the Lakers offensive sets:

"Paying" Luol Deng clearly didn't work.

Not sure what type of offense Luke is running and just how it caters to our transcendent passing PG (Zo), but it sure looks like we're struggling to utilize it to our benefit at the moment.

The Dubs (the offense we're trying to mimic but don't have the equivalent talent) are ranked 1st in the % of made field goals that resulted from an assist.

The Sixers (with their transcendent passing PG) are ranked 2nd.

    Meanwhile the Lakers are 25th.

I'm happy with the D, but our offense needs a whole lot of work.

That encourages me to think we actually do have an offense lol

I think from mistakes made and pointed out, you can tell some of these young guys are still learning the game and the plays.

If some things are taken away, they don’t know what to do next or how to react. It must take a lot of patience to teach such a young group, and be frustrating as hell.

Also helps explain pulling people out of lineups when they brain cramp on offense or defense.
