Yeah I don't think we'd annouce the 3 finalist and then not hire any of them... thats just a bad look right?

plaschke just wants what's worst for the lakers, period.

SAS is just a windbag who needs a cause to get riled up about for 3 hours a day. i get that guys like him and skip bayless and the other talking heads are rich and i shouldn't feel bad for them (and i don't), but man, it's got to be hard to lace 'em up every day like that. imagine waking up and being like, well, the world expects me to rant loudly about...something...so what shall it be today?

You mean like how Phil Jackson went to sleep thinking Lakers were hiring him, only to wake up the next morning to find out we hired MDA?

Until Ham's contract is signed, I won't put anything past our "brain trust. " Then if Russ is still on the roster, there's still a good chance we'll look at Doc next summer when we scapegoat this coach too.

dr. buss made the final call on hiring d'antoni. if i remember correctly, phil was never formally offered the job but instead was told they were going to keep interviewing other candidates and figured he'd eventually get the chance to accept or reject the job. instead they quickly hired d'antoni under dr. buss's orders

His endorsement says you’re doing the right thing by not hiring him. Guy coached one team in his entire career 8 years ago and it ended badly.

And of course, the only player on the panel and the only one who actually knows what he is talking about, Rose, is pro-Ham.

F***in’ Plaschke …. man! Has he not watched Rivers’s flameouts in the playoffs for the past 13 years?

My main thing is I want the front office to get its top choice. I don’t want another situation like Vogel where they never fully back the new coach.

This is a good time to try someone new. There are no good retread choices. I just want our young talent to be developed as best we can. Lebron will be chasing Kareem even worse this coming season. With good health we could make the playoffs, it is hard to imagine any scenario we compete for a championship. It would take masterful trading or a real stupid GM on another team, of which there are some. Lebron is the ultimate test for Laker fans, if you can stomach him being here you can handle anything Laker wise.

I'm actually surprised by Stephen A Fraud comments. I thought he would be all in for Ham, or Mark Jackson, never mind. It's a shame when you see certain people go out of their way to vouch for someone for a job position without giving an in depth reason of why he is best for the job. Chachet? Give me a break, if he is a great coach, he will be a great coach. Ham seems like the front runner, he seems to put in his dues and deserves a shot as a head coach. I liked how he conducts himself in interviews, players seem to love him. I just wonder if he will be to much of a nice guy and let guys like Lebron walk over him to worried about the scoring record and not's what best for the team. Phil Jackson was able to make star players gel.

I disagree. With LeBron and AD, Ham will get overwhelmed like Mike Brown was early in the season if they slump.

i'm good with ham. i might have preferred more creativity, but it beats the mikes. i would like to see him get an experienced tactician like stotts as an assistant.

I'm hoping this is wrapped up by mid/end of week. Would like to see the Lakers move swiftly on this and not hear about any contract negotiation issues.
