While Stotts isn’t exciting I think we could do a lot worse. I always liked him in Portland and thought he was competent at least. Much better choice than Mark Jackson, Mike Brown or Scotty Brooks. Of the retread coaches he is the only one I could really see hiring. I’m glad we have permission to interview D. Ham now, he’s still the most intriguing candidate I’ve heard.

I like him more as an option as assistant head coach if we go the route of a first time head coach (which I still don't think we land on that direction). I think he'd be a solid hire to a Ham staff IF that's who Ham wanted. We better let the HC pick his f***ing staff this time out.

It's curious that we've heard nothing about Rondo's intentions to play next season or not. Would've thought he'd definitely be in the mix as well if he was ready to hang it up.

I honestly don't have a favorite. I don't think it matters that much, don't think it will be the guy to lead us in post-lebron era, so whoever it is will have his success based on Lebron and AD being healthy. So I think we can be very competitive with a lot of names.

Also, based on the options available (and my lack of knowledge of assistants around the league) I don't see a clear candidate that really set us apart.
Would love to have Rondo as assistant

I get wanting to wait on Snyder, but why in f*** sake are you waiting for Doc? That's like waiting on them to discount the milk at the dollar general market because it's already pass the sell by date. It's just not a good idea.

I could talk myself into Stotts. I don’t mind us taking a shot at one of the assistants out there though.

I'm surprised Charlotte and Sacramento are not lining up to hire a championship coach like Vogel.

Hopefully the fact that even the Kings didn’t want Mark Jackson sends a message to the Lakers…

Anything the Kings do should never influence anyone with an ounce of intelligence.

    Good hire by the Kings.

Brown will do good in cow town.

    IMO

i'll be pleasantly surprised if he does. i haven't been impressed by him as a lead guy, and that organization is coaching kryptonite, too.

They made the right basketball decision.

He's better than Jackson, which isn't saying much, but he's the kind of coach they need right now.

And it keeps him away from us most importantly.

Just keep Jackson and Doc away from my Lakers, please.

I'll take Stotts before any of them in a heart beat

One bad option off the board with a handful of more to go. Hopefully he'll hire at least one of the others as an assistant.

Crap I was really counting on them doing the stupid thing and hiring Jackson. Now we still have a bunch of retreads to worry about, Jackson, Doc, Stotts, Snyder, Clifford, etc.

Mike Brown is good for player development. I don't think you can count on him to coach stars for title aspirations. For what the Kings need I think its a great hire.
