That's what I mean when I say they're not taught properly. However, if the workout is: Do as many pull-ups as you can in 30 seconds with proper form. I like that in a circuit.
Those aren't pull-ups. Those are kipping or butterfly pull-ups. It's not "just momentum" either. Top female competitors can do more strict pull-ups than you can. http://therussells.crossfit.com/201...lishing-false-claims-about-crossfit-injuries/
Well, it's about athleticism. Explosiveness is one measure. Try measuring athleticism without numbers. Some vitriol up in here.
It's freakin hard to get back on track. My legs are weak as f***, i almost passed out doing push presses today . Still better than last week though .
I signed up with my son at a boxing gym. First class, I lasted about 20 min before seeing stars and feeling like I was going to pass out. Been going for 3 weeks now (3 days per week) and am able to finish the classes and love them.
Epic bump! So I have been working out 5 days a week, MWF Kettlebells and calisthenics, TTH run. Can't lose weight floating around 285, but getting good gains physically. My question is this, I am interment fasting 14-16 hrs a day with a cup of bulletproof coffee in the am, and work out at 5am. I know a couple other folks IF, how does working out in the AM and still fasting effect you? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
That would kick my butt, and I think I'd be pretty worthless at work. I think it's better to eat early and skip later, as your metabolism is Kickstarted at the beginning of the day.
I've been doing some cutting edge osmosis training, but I admit I'm not feeling or seeing any results yet.
Heavy, basic lifts >>> all these hi tech, bro science, full of bs routines and diets ;-). Any excersise is better than none though...
I've read that you shouldn't be fasting because it sends your body into starvation mode (metabolism slows). The Hollywood actors that need to get into "Marvel" shape usually eat several small meals a day. The dude from the new Tarzan movie was saying he ate a small piece of chicken and some broccoli like 6 times a day. I've never been large, but when I do need to lose some weight, I usually have my best results when I eat a decent sized breakfast (like yogurt AND oatmeal and maybe something else) and then eat veggies throughout the day until dinner where I eat fish and some sort of carb. Whenever I fasted and didn't eat throughout the day, it usually resulted in me eating a terrible dinner where the terribleness was multiplied by the fact that my metabolism had slowed down due to not eating all day.
I eat pretty clean all the time, and when I'm not fasting I eat my fair share of calories. My concern at this point really isn't not losing weight, as my body is thinning where it needs to WHILE gaining density and volume where it needs to. My waste is about the same size it was when I weighed 265, but I'm 285. From what I have read the fast helps your body metabolise fat stores, keep glucose levels down, and helps me mentally quite a bit. I know Time and Trodgers used to IF as well Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
I was on IF for a year ;-). Good results (but no better than on other diets... as long as you know and count your macros). One thing that was quite surprising and kind of wicked, were the trainings on an empty stomach. lt felt great
I have been IF since March or so, I honestly don't even think about the not having ate yet thing. As I type this I am 14 hours in and I am not even hungry. That will change as soon as I eat something lol, but for now not much hunger at all. And at this point my work outs feel more productive at 5am on an empty stomach than at 5pm after eating. Let me ask you this. When did you exercise? and When did you end your fast in relation to that? I have to work out at 5am but that's dead in the middle of my fasted state, and I generally don't eat, weekends are an exception sometimes, until 11am/12pm. I have read that the workout dead in the middle of Fasted should lead to jump in your T, but I have no idea. @TIME and @trodgers are you still IF and whats your take.
My fast was usualy from 9-10pm to 5-6pm the next day. I worked out around 3-4pm and my first meal was the post workout one.
@Kingsama I'm still doing a modified IF most days. I don't usually eat after 10pm and don't eat until noon except for the Bulletproof coffee with grass fed butter and coconut oil and a small pinch of Himalayan salt. It works for me, but I think there is more than one good path up this mountain.
You mean maintaining your fast through after your workout? Some might suggest the metabolic window must be respected, but there's little evidence to back that. Personally, I crash if I don't eat within an hour of a workout.
