Nail down 1 solid rotation piece through this process and you've scored

Sorry for the off topic guys but you are the most reliable source of information for me online haha. Was wondering on your opinions (if any) on Jeremy Sochan. He's the first Polish player to enter the draft in a very long time and Polish media (as usual) is hyping him up as a potential lotto pick. Thoughts? Who would you compare him to from current NBA players? I don't follow college basketball and have seen literally zero minutes of his play.

I always feel like I have no idea who any of these guys are since I don't watch college ball or other leagues. Nice of folks to put summaries together, but it's difficult for a team focused on a championship to get pumped up for draft picks IMHO.

However, our scouting team has been nothing short of amazing for a decade, and I'm certain they can find us a rotation player even if it's an undrafted player.

Idk who any of them are; but I guess we can play scouts from our computers.

i actually feel like a good highlights package and write up from a scout helps me quite a bit. for example, i remember when bane was drafted and based on what i'd seen i didn't understand why he was projected late 1st/early 2nd--even though the write-ups were the ones projecting him there.

but yeah, it's a big crap shoot even for the professionals, which is why it's even more amazing how successful we've been.

Hopefully we give my countryman a chance as the 1st natural born Filipino to play in the NBA. Projection: probably Undrafted, 7’2 about 240.

Philippines is already Lakers country. I can only imagine how big this would be if he became a Laker. And he was good.

Interesting to see who the Lakers are looking at. On nbadraft.net they have Jamaree Bouyea going in the 2nd round as pick 34 to OKC.

The Lakers don’t have any picks at all this year and I was thinking, would any of you be open to the idea of trading THT for multiple second round picks in this years draft?

Like a THT to Orlando for picks 32 and 35, or THT to Minnesota for picks 40, 48, and 50.

The one consistent positive about the Lakers front office is the scouting department ran by Joey and Jesse Buss. If they can hit on undrafted players (Caruso, Reaves), what if we gave them actual draft picks to use to try to restore some young depth for rotational players?

I think I would do it and trust the scouting department… We need ways to have solid rotation pieces to fill out the roster.

Let’s say we can convince Orlando to do the deal and we take Bouyea who’s super athletic, can hit the 3 and plays point guard, a position we will badly need rotational help in… and then we take a guy like Leonard Miller who’s 6’11” 210lbs, build wirely with length so he can give us some big wing depth and his scouting report (https://ftw.usatoday.com/2022/05/nb...ntucky-arizona-g-league-ignite-overtime-elite) says he’s an athletic, ball handling SF with a lot of upside. He’s got the body to be a excellent defender (long arms, big hands).

So in a way, we would trade THT to get depth at point guard and small forward.

i've barely seen him, but he stood out to me in the bits of baylor games i watched, and not just because of the hair. reminded me a little of brandon clarke maybe? think he's slated to go anywhere from late lotto to the 20s. not sure we need a player of this type first and foremost, but lots of teams can use large-ish energy guys who can move in space on defense.

buy the picks....theres no guarantee these 2nders end up being any better than tht on top of them needing to develop as the team trys to contend

yeah, i don't move THT for 2nds, even if they absorb the salary.

decent chance we get a udfa better than 2/3 of the guys taken in the 2nd round anyway.
