Boston Fans burning Thomas jersey is the DUMBEST thing of 2017. He played a day or 2 after his sister was killed. He didn't leave on his own. The team traded him. to get a better player. FFS, these "fans" are just dumb. As for Bron, his team lost to Gelo Ball today.
This is a stretch but... with Kobe calling out Isiah Thomas, I have to start thinking KB is trying to submarine all of LeBron's teams. He did it with Kyrie and now Thomas. Even with all of the "Cavalier Kingdom" bs, lol. So why would LeBron come to LA? Yes, Klutch business, his family lives here yada yada. All players spend their summers in LA. But on the court? LBJ cares about "legacy". I'm pretty sure he wants to claim some of the heroics here and bring LA back to glory.... and to steal some of the shine from Kobe's legacy here. I would not put that past Lebron. This is probably all in my head, but combined with the fact LBJ will probably fire-bomb our roster with old players and no cap space after 3 years.... I'm officially off the LBJ free agency train. That's gonna be a NO for me dogg. Bring on PG.
KLAY ..........although I dont think James comes anymore and I truly dislike Westbrook but getting him would do 2 things, pretty much kill off OKC for a decade and obviously strengthens our core, just gota go of REAL's suggestion of playing Ingram at the 4 Zo/Westbrook/PG/Ingram/some guy
I really don't think Westbrook is coming. PG13 is now ineligible for the super-dupermax since he's not with his original team. Westbrook can still get it. He can sign a contract that is so much more lucrative than one we can offer, the "LA off the court money" won't be a factor. Cousins and PG13 are a more likely combo if Lebron decides not to come. The Lebron-to-LA chatter seems to have reached critical mass. It's so common and out there at this point, that I'm actually starting to doubt it.
I hope we get dinged for tampering with Lebron, and they won't let us sign him Let me have my fun, geesh
that supermax contract has been on table for Westbrook since July, why hasn't Westbrook signed it? OKC is playing a losing gm, OKC did same for Westbrook (bringing in PG) as Hou did for Harden and Harden signed that ext. as soon as it was offered.
It's the ultimate player leverage. It's about control of your situation, and I support players for holding organizations accountable for doing what it takes to build winning rosters around them.
I dont know what more OKC GM could do though? He pulled a rabbit out his butt and got PG for a bag of change, I mean if that doesn't show Westbrook OKC is willing to do anything and everything to keep him around than I really doubt Westbrook stays. If he exts it would at least give PG a reason to stay as well as oppose to the mantra that they both want to see how the season goes. Thats why I say OKC is playing a losing gm, I still dont think this OKC team is capable of beating a Hou or a SA team, they're still a flawed team, bunch of overpaid role players and still lack shooters (Mcdermot is a flash in the pants and Abrines is/was like our ver. of Sasha)
It being there since July and him not signing it isn't proof he won't. But his situation is different than Harden's. Harden was on a team with the 3rd best record and they added CP3 who at this stage is still better than PG13. I still think Westbrook stays. Too much guaranteed money.
if you think thats the case, what reason does he have to wait? With or w/o PG in tow, OKC will be capped out, the team they have now will almost certainly be the same team next yr too. They have to wait 2 yrs till Kanter contract is cleared before they'll have cap again, minimal at best as Westbrook will be at nearly 40mill by himself. PG trade was outlier, they lucked out cause pritchard is a moron, I dont see them getting another chance at trading for a star with the junk they have left.
Hypothetical scenario....Lebron loses terribly again in the finals, tells Clev I'm leaving to LA, mgmt. steps in an offers JC/Deng/2 future unprotected 1st for Lebron, Clev not wanting to lose James for nothing takes the deal. -So now we have cap for 2 max ALONG with James already in tow, so which of these 2 teams has a good chance of beating GSW Zo,Ingram,PG,James,Cousins (or Brook back) Zo,Westbrook,PG,Ingram, James (this ver is odd as I dont think you could get away with playing James at C all year only against GSW)
1st star to win titles with 3 different teams. That's what Bron wants his legacy to be. Dr. Buss wanted to dethrone the C Bags as the winningest franchise. LA/Bron vs. Boston/Kyrie in the Finals. Silver and the NBA corporate sponsors are licking their chops...meanwhile the rest of the league will be throwing whatever tampering charges they can at us to make sure it doesn't happen.
