Another great performance. definitely worried he’s going to get hurt but we gotta just hope for the best until AD comes back and a trade happens.

Guys are out here scoring 50, 60 and 70 points in order to win games. Good to know we have two guys capable of putting up big numbers.

i sincerely doubt it, though in a way, that's kinda been my point (no one on these forums is qualified to be in charge of basketball operations for an nba team). how's ol' super genius danny ainge lookin' today?!

anyway, this is the lebron thread. he was great again last night. it would be nice if we made a trade to lighten his load. i remain unsure that said trade is out there (it's not fournier/reddish, for example).

^^^ would be if it was only for Bev and Nunn. Hell and Jones if they want him.

my point is that a deal at that level isn't going to save us from having to play lebron 40 minutes to win games while AD is out. it just is what it is right now.

again, i think we need to just shut him down for entire games that are likely losses. we have back to back road games against sac and denver coming up. he needs to sit one of them. probably the sac game because it's the second night of a b2b?

Lebron hasn't shot this poorly from 3 (.301 %) since 2015. If he can get back up to around 36% like in his previous 2 seasons, look out.

The b2b is Atlanta Home and @SAC. Both are games we should win. Plus, Sacramento is one of the teams we should finish ahead if we have any playoff aspirations. We have already the Pels overachieving. So we need to win against them. We already lost 2 this year against them (4 if we count preseason).

Sacramento should come to the play-in zone with a swap with either Phoenix or Warriors. The one left of that group is either in the play-in or we will have Clippers/Dallas going to the play-in. That leaves Sacramento, Portland, Minny, Utah and OKC (?) for the remaining 3 slots.

It's embarrassing we are in that group, f hell. Either one have major flaws and we are competing (and behind!!) with them when we have the 2 best players of all those teams combined, by far. Damn it, I'm depressed lol

Totally agree with your view to rest him in non-winnable games. Not sure if there's pressure from the NBA/TVs for that not to happen too often, as those games should be the ones more televised and expected by fans.

Anyway, looking to this month and if no AD, I would sit him against Philly at H before a b2b with Houston, Boston and Nets away after a b2b with Clips/Spurs and preceding a b2b at NY.

the only reason leBron is scoring at this clip is because the league has some serious talent/fundamental issues. It's not as hard to score any longer. You have guys averaging close to 30 with no business averaging 30. Guy just scored 71, and I don't think he's ever scored 50 before.

He has to stay healthy to pull it off yes, but I don't find myself that impressed

    And he's my favorite player

i think sac might be sorta legit this year. i'm no longer counting on them dropping. i'm still think portland and utah can drop all the way to below us. and okc should. but minny will get towns back at some point and they really can't afford to keep losing. barring further injury, we'll be fighting it out with portland and minny for the last two play-in spots, imo.

and yes, that's depressing. when you realize it means we have to play substantially better than we have so far even for that outcome, it gets really dark.

I was wrong. He has just languished in crap markets not getting the attention he could have gotten elsewhere.

mitchell had 57 and 51 in the same playoff series a couple years ago, but your general point stands. it has become easier to put up really big scoring numbers.

but lebron is doing it consistently at age 38, which is what's causing the hype. he's also doing so pretty efficiently despite sucking from three, which is a neat trick. if he keeps attacking the basket instead of settling for threes, we'll probably win more games, too.

    edit: beat me to it.

it's absurd at 38 with that kind of mileage.

    no doubt about it

To be potentially passing the all time leader in points while scoring nearly 30ppg? That crazy

    That's a lot of adrenochrome 666 action

League just seems loaded in terms.of talent to me. The internationals have slowly made more of an impact. Basketball probably is the only sport outside of soccer now to really say you are really competing against the best of the world in the NBA.

Luka, Giannis, Jokic, Embid basically the top 4 MVP candidates are not American! Throw in you still have Lebron, Durant, Steph playing well despite their age and the league is just incredibly talneted

i have no idea how this has bearing on pioneer's statement?

can't it be both? it's both easier to score AND we have an unusually high concentration of top notch scorers in the league right now? i think the fact that scoring in general is up definitely has something to do with the 50 point games proliferating, though.
