If you are correct. Big if. He could also love CA and not having to worry about hurricanes, tornados, blizzards / Canadian cold fronts and everything else we don’t have here aside from the every 20-30 years bad shakers?

Tough question. I need to see this summer. I am as worried with his on-court performance the next couple of years as I am with his off-court one. We can't be depleted of assets like he did on the Cavs and Miami, we just can't

I would only re-sign a LeBron James, going into his TWENTY-FIRST season, if he took a Dirk type deal (10 mil or lower) to help the team fill out the roster with lots of talent. I would think even at that point LeBron will still be pretty good, but no way in hell am I paying him max money, or even half of that. He already is declining bad on the defensive end, by that point he will have to be covered for even more on that end, his real value would remain his passing and shooting I guess.

I just hope AD ends up being like a Stephen Curry thing. There was a time when we all thought he was a bust in the NBA then he got his body together. Or to a lesser extent, like Grant Hill. Maybe AD's body will grow up part of it is mental, you can't just take the "oh landed on a foot, freak ankle injury" attitude because there are ways to brace for impacts and if there wasn't, far more players would be out more frequently

Take Lebron on a low deal say 15 mil, on the condition that we sign Bronny

Not trying to be a d*** but what does “bracing for impact” look like / how is that done …. for having a 220lb (?) player tossed unexpectedly into your planted knee, or having your feet 30” or more off the floor while your eyes are focused on timing a rebound or blocking a shot above your head and unknowingingly landing on a foot with AD’s weight …. even after he dropped whatever few pounds? When not expecting either?

I don't know what it "looks like" but it involves tensing and tightening the muscles and tendons covering the area. You don't think MJ or guys like Jah Morant don't do this? I realize it won't be effective 100% of the time and there are real freak injuries but if you don't think some players brace for impact better than others then explain the difference in frequency of injury. There are guys who get up in the air all the time come down on other players and aren't going down left and right.

Continuing to pay him max money when he only plays half the floor would be a business decision- not a smart basketball one. Some may be cool with continuing to watch a team that is incapable of guarding any good teams, but I am not and won’t be next season when we are stuck with Russ. That’s nearly two thirds of your roster tied up in guys that barely play any defense. So, the other three guys on the floor at all times better be the best defensive players in the League if you want to have any chance of success. Another year of losing games like this and why would young, talented players want to come?
This recipe makes sense to sell tickets for the inevitable James Family Tour but it is in no way one that will give you a winning product on the floor.

Hey, he did say,”It’s not about the money.”
Let’s keep him to his word and see just how much he wants to stay in L.A.

I'm not paying close to that. The first year of that extension, I'm not sure on the figure... depends where we're at, where he's at physically, and what's the vision/plan/targets that off season. On the second year, I'm taking him at his word that money doesn't matter if he can play with Bronny. He's getting the vet min. Since I don't think we can structure a deal like that, either give him a 1 year deal or put a team option in year two and give him the bare minimum.

He's just chasing the all-time scoring record. He's given up on this season. You hate to see it

yeah, everyone's been fawning over his offensive production and efficiency, but he completely let go of the rope defensively a while back and was never fully present there all year.

Not a Lakers fan, but I've watched the last few games and watched you guys boo LBJ off the court last night. By the end of the game, half the seats were empty, including the one occupied by the owner. I'm stunned to hear you support bringing him back for more years of this, as all he's likely to do is what he did last night--stay on the court during meaningless minutes, trying to get points. Why would you want more or this, or (gasp!) give up your years of championship runs in order to watch this guy, who you booed, play with his son? I'm not trolling you. It's a serious question.

Uh huh, not trolling us huh?? OK, here is a real answer. If we get a championship squad around him, one that COULD be competitive without him, he will show up. But he is not going to risk his body for a bunch of chumps who can't ret out of the first round, and we will not likely even get TO the first round.

I don't like what I am seeing, but I hardly blame him. I would do the same thing and to heck with y'all!!!

Don't worry Lebron, you will get your own while the rest of the team suffers, enjoy breaking Kareem's record.

i guess i'll treat this as a serious question. nobody's happy with how lebron has played for most of the year, imo, but i'm not sure that hanging onto him equates to giving up our championship runs. it's not like if he leaves, we're suddenly going to be closer to contention. i'll take the ring he brought us when everyone was tapdancing on our grave, laugh at them, and grin and bear the decline. later, maybe we'll get another star while opposing fans whine, rinse and repeat.
