The form on the 3 pt shot and the turn around jumper look so smooth right now.
With KCP and Caruso able to bury 3's, impossible to guard

^The book on James defensively WAS let him have the outside shot. You just about can't do that anymore.

Jumpstarted a sluggish offense late in the second...kept it up the third.

Highlight with a one handed follow up slam.

I’ve personally never seen a player this good in year 18, never. If you want to compare him at age 36 instead to some other greats like say Kareem, again, that was personally before my time as I was born in ‘84. That would have I believe been Kareem’s 15th season, but he played a full college career (for the time, 3 years, freshman couldn’t play), so maybe it’s fair to add those years into that. Maybe Karl Malone at age 36 as well? Aside from that I never expected LeBron to remain dominant, to have barely lost a step at this age. And I mean sure he HAS lost a step, but he’s adapted his game in ways I didn’t foresee him doing, like it’s remarkable the level of confidence he shoots threes with now, and how most of the time I’m not surprised when they go in. Or the way he finishes at the rim, he’s got the angles for his layups down, he’s able to absorb contact and barely even be bothered, it’s usually him bullying guys down there and using some solid footwork doing it. It’s been fun to watch honestly, he looks like he’s constantly having fun, and that’s enjoyable basketball.

Great points: it's sad watching a guy like Blake Griffin now that his explosion is gone not be able to finish at all. I was worried the same would have to Lebron but he's using his strength to absorb or create contact to make up the lack of explosion

It's not sad. Blake chose to ride his athleticism until it ran out without advancing his game. It not only cost him now, it cost CP3 and the Clippers titles. It had him shipped to the the black hole of America, Detroit, where he is rotting in obscurity.

I do not relate to Lebron James much, however, in the last couple years, he has changed. He isn't flopping like he was and whining like he was when he was in Miami and Cleveland. I wonder if Kobe and the Lakers brass told him things run differently here or if the effect of fans in LA spray painting his murals had an effect. Either way, Lebron adjusted to it. The Lakers may be in Los Angeles, the city of snowflakes and fakes, but the sports side of it, the real community of LA, not the Hollywood wienies, they honor hard work and being real men and women. Lebron not load managing and being vocal about it and watching him give it his all against the Memphis Grizzlies in a January game showed me alot. I have mad respect for that. In the end, he will reap the benefits if he continues that and we should honor him for that effort. It already has brought Lakers nation a banner.

Gilbert Arenas is a troll outside of basketball but the guy has an incredibly high basketball IQ. There's a reason Kobe said Gilbert is wasting his talent away by being a clown on social media rather than being a coach. Gilbert would be a perfect scout/player development type of individual.

I agree in large part with his take, but I think LeBron became a #1 option in the 2018 playoffs and that was the first time I really sat and went woah, this guy is amazing and just enjoyed the show and didn’t critique. There was nothing to do that about, he was carrying a team of average players, averaging 34/9/9, hitting game winners, beat the up and coming C Bags in the ECF, and got to the Finals and almost took game 1 by himself Iverson style with a 51 point game. From then on at least he’s been a #1 option, he’s adapted his game to that because he had to.

If Agent Zero meant that LeBron is not a great ISO player, I would agree. But he has always been a #1 option. What is amazing is that at age 36 with another great #1 option in AD on the team, LeBron is still the #1 option.

Yeah he was actually awful tonight. Haven’t seen a stinker like that from Lebron in a long time.

when he didn't go after oubre's dumb a** after his early attempts to dog lebron, i knew he wasn't up for the game. had some punk gotten in kobe's face/jersey like that from the tip, he'd have put the dude in his place. lebron half-assedly tried once on a post up, and when he didn't convert, he sort of didn't bother again. you've got to remind oubre he's junk.

I thought the 3 minute flurry to close the first half was going to be him flipping the switch for the 2nd half. Obviously didn't happen. I'm all for holding teammates accountable when KCP passed up the shot IF Bron looked himself in the mirror first. He was terrible last night.

He had no business taking that last shot. Given how his night went, I would've preferred any Laker but Trez take that 3 instead. And if we're including 2 point looks, then I give it to Trez over Bron, too.

Yeah, I didn't care for his scolding of KCP when he played like crap all game long. That was maybe the worst thing I've seen from Lebron since he became a Laker. I don't know what was up with him but it was a bad look from LBJ. I hope he apologizes for that one.

I feel like I recently saw him discuss this. That he's aware that he wears his emotions on his sleeves and sometimes is too visibly frustrated with his teammates, but he's trying to work on it. I could be misremembering, I wish I could remember the details and look up the interview.

Because yeah, that was a bad look. But I trust that KCP has seen that before and Lebron tries to make amends for it. It wouldn't be difficult either to spin that into a positive, because the frustration did actually stem from Lebron being more confident in KCP hitting that shot than any of his teammates. "Sorry for getting heated, I just know that's your shot, so next time don't hesitate and pull the trigger because I have utmost confidence in you".

I'm not sure I agree with correlating Lebron having a bad night to KCP not making the right play.
