Yes, small ball today allows Zion to dominate more in ways that wouldn't be as easily replicated during the early 90's to early 2000's. Comparing stats between different generations of basketball isn't accurate.

Zion is on a good team as well. Plus he's great - a weird cross between Shaq and Barkley

Lebron came into a trash situation in Cleveland and frankly, he had basically trash till he got to Miami. Cleveland wasted a top 3 NBA player of all time for 7 years

Thanks to us he's on a good team.

They weren't going anywhere with Jrue only. As much as he works hard and has some skills... he still makes bonehead plays and I'd trade him for a center if I were them.

All your favorite players are on the Pelicans. Stop fighting it and feeling all this angst about the Lakers. Just be a Pelicans fan.

PS ..... bet they don't pay Lonzo's market rate to keep him / or he won't want to stay in that small market. And how about Hart. They are going to face same decisions we had.

Edit Just had a thought ..... what if they all of a sudden this summer the Pelicans ship Lonzo and Hart off for a player they want even more .... to play alongside Zion and BI? Put S. Meat on suicide watch, no more faith in the world?

    :Shaqsurprised2:

Not likely but if Lonzo or the old man are giving signs he doesn't want to stay in NO then who knows.

Every topic is filled with Pelicans this, and Pelicans that

And "gave up too much for AD", etc etc

lol. pretty sure NO would rather have AD and zion.

and of course, jrue must be to blame for the pelicans being a dumpster fire prior to zion. not...the guys who headlined a dumpster fire for two or three years already. that would be too simple.

And I would rather have traded for Zion than AD.

If you are going to give up everyone... at least do it for someone who impacts your ability to win.

I wish it were that easy. I was born in the heart of Los Angeles. In the city properly and grew up with a family that had season tickets to the Forum.

If I was from another country or state... sure I'd root for the Pelicans... but the Lakers are my team.

Some of you view the teams like video games where you can easily interchange the pieces.

I bond with the players and sometimes I want them to stay.

Don't see that as a big flaw that I'm loyal to some players.

good thing we did and we are. i have no idea what your point is here. NO would be better off with AD, just like we are.

I asked this question a week ago... Does anyone really think this guy is a Lakers fan? I don't think he actually has a team but stumbled upon this site and now can't leave... When was the last time this guy ever had any optimism about the Lakers? It's always what the Pelicans are doing...

My point is that we traded for the less transformative player

I already admitted that you are right.

I am an Arabic, trans, communist Pelicans fan who's bitter against AD because he stole my girlfriend...wasting dozens of hours of my time posing as a Lakers fan to impress twenty people.

Hopefully people will take your perceptive thoughts on me and keep that in mind when analyzing the value of your other takes.

People find you to be a nuisance here because all you do is cry about AD but fantasize about Brandon Ingram's jockstrap. It's not only me who thinks it. When almost everyone here is annoyed by your AD/Pelicans takes, it becomes obvious what your real intentions are.

You mean we went from a non-playoff team to being the #1 seed in the stacked Western Conference and are a top-three NBA team to contend for a title? Wow, life is tough these days. I wonder how many teams would gladly trade to be in the Lakers position right now. Probably zero, according to you.

We are positioned well this year... and I will be rooting for us to succeed all the way. I praised Rob for his last minute signings.

But unless we handle the LBJ transition to another elite closer with great care... it could be very dicey the next couple years.

My hopes are that we sign Dwight and Boogie... draft another gem in the late first... maybe convert some of our expirings into a good point guard.

Then make a smooth transition to the other star.

But there is no room for error. Meanwhile the Pelicans could be positioned for becoming a young dynasty.

We ARE better than them this season. They have no true center/rim protector even though Favors plays well as an undersized one.

But if they fix that then we will have a hard time with them.

Dude, WTF are you talking about? 2021-2022, LeBron and AD will be the only players on our roster assuming AD re-signs and LeBron opts in. You act like we're strapped for the next decade. Do you even bother to do any type of research or do you think you're smarter than Rob?

The salary cap is supposed to be going down and we will be maxing out AD.

Not having picks or young assets will make the depth part more complicated.

Have they done a good job improvising? Yes.

But it is a problem... considering the fact that we are actually interviewing Dion Waiters.

Very important we get Dwight and Boogie on friendly contracts.
