How do you trademark Taco Tuesday? It’s been around forever. I think this is dumb.

    I call “Hump Day”.

Seriously this is so stupid, how can you trademark a thing that like a thousand restaurants do every week?

    :Nope:

Sure all you .... talk is cheap. Put your money for the process where your "Day" is like Bron is attempting to do.

Come'n Cook? This is pretty damn similar.

I'm just pointing out that super successful people have similar personality traits.... Not exact, but definitely remotely the same.

They really are not even close to the same, so I'm not sure what you are identifying as hypocrisy. Now, if LeBron had tried to trademark "King James", and people here made fun of it while at the same time lauding Kobe for trademarking "Black Mamba", then you would have a valid point about hypocrisy. But as is, not so much.

I deleted my comment but it must not have been fast enough. I have no problem with making fun of Kobe when he does dumb stuff, like that “white hot” magazine cover for instance. I will say that Kobe was dumb for not locking up the Black Mamba name early in his career. The Kardashian’s have trademarked their kids names already. God please let the whole Kardashian craze be over before those kids are old enough to make money off their names, but that a entirely different discussion.

When I hear the words Black Mamba the first thing I think of is Kobe, second thing is the snake itself. When I hear the words Taco Tuesday, the first thing I think of is a Mexican restaurant, second thing is the day of the week. I would never associate those words with Lebron James. I don’t know of anyone else using the name Black Mamba before Kobe used it. Taco Tuesday has been used by thousands of restaurants, long before Lebron was even born. That’s why I have a problem with Lebron trying to trademark it. It has nothing to do with hypocrisy.

I don't understand what y'all want me to concede here? What... should Bron forego this trademark for the inevitability that it one day Falls to Tacko and his signature shoe?

This is just one example of many why hypocrisy of player fans in a team sport is all perception.

The stuff a particular member posts on Bron is who my post was addressing. So take a peak at who posted it and then I'm sure the sirrens will go off. The hypocrisy is that individual will chide Bron for stuff Kob has done. It's all good fun tho...

Anyways, I disagree completely with this. These stars play with different rules. They all got a complex to themselves and that's why I really got no dog in a team oriented fight. For example, Kob also trademarked "HeroVillian," which is literally any story ever told no matter what day it is. New stories are now pushing the anti-hero angle so a guy that is named after a steak is putting a well placed stake in his new career as a storyteller.

Haven’t had much to say about the Lakers lately, but this is one of the many reasons I can’t stand LeBron.
