immediate regret. wtf is griffin thinking allowing that quote out there? i mean, he said that, verbatim, on purpose? even if he said it, it's a terrible look, so he should deny it to save face. even if it's true that lebron cares less about winning now, it's a terrible look to talk about someone like that in the press.

zion's watching you, bro. and readying his trade demand for 4 years from now.

So much for Griffin being a smart executive. If you can’t say something nice.....

Griffin being a d!ckhead (literally (lol) and figuratively) for no reason...not really a smart move on his part considering this league is all about relationships. Burning bridges is stupid long-term.

Especially with LeBron's best friend being the most powerful agent in the league.

Yeah, that is really odd, you’re most likely going to have to work with Klutch clients going forward, and also why poke the bear? I guess it doesn’t matter if your team isn’t going to be in the playoffs, but since they have our picks, why give any extra motivation for our team to make that pick even worse?

So during the dog days of summer, they already went at Bron for being an overzealous dad and being too overzealous in title hunting taking the joy out of it. The media is sure going to make this season alot of fun with the constant propaganda.. hopefully AD doesn't buy into the nonsense.

Still the power of Bron is strong...Griff is already using his talking head to walk it back.

Btw in regards to discussion where players are circumventing the draft, I believe Savs, ronstu and abeer are correct... all players need to enter the draft to be NBA eligible. The player is at the mercy of a team to go undrafted and then they can choose to sign with a team of their choice.

A team owns a players rights up to a year after they honor an international contract. So for example, a team holds the rights to a player for up to 4 years if the player signs a 3yr international deal.

The quickest route for a player to get paid and get to the team of their choice without forcing draft position or for venting the CBA and risking penality is to get drafted by any team, then not coming to terms with that team...then they would enter the draft the following year and can either go undrafted or get drafted and not sign with that team again, making them a rookie free agent the following season. So essentially you have to refuse contracts with the teams that drafted you and forfeit 2 years of playing pro hoops. So a drafted 19 y/o would be 21 and have refused 2 teams that drafted them and offered them contracts to force their way to a team of their liking.

True, we went in on Lebron pretty heavily on ClubLakers after that 2010 debacle against the evil empire. To this day, that is the most bizarre playoff performance I've ever seen from a superstar. In retrospect it's understandable considering the situation with Delonte West but at the time it was a head scratcher.

I love how David Griffin is talking about how it's so frustrating to be in an environment where the expectation is to do everything to win NOW. Is that NOT your job description? I think that's why Griffin took the job in New Orleans...because he can "organically" build that team to never win a championship but he'll continue to get a free pass from everyone because hey...team building right?

I'm shocked a writer took something out of context.

Griffin wasn’t taken out of context. He literally never distinguished between being unhappy around LeBron and being unhappy around the media scrutiny of a LeBron team. He said what he meant, and it was dumb, and now he’s walking it back. Bob Ryan pointed out today on ATH that Griffin never said this in the article, so if this is what he meant he did need to clarify. And friggin Stugotz ripped him a new one on the same show, pointing out that pre-LeBron Griffin had drafted Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins with the #1 picks, so he didn’t exactly have a glowing resumé.

Nothing wrong with a good veggie taco. We have a great place in San Diego called "Lola 55". Top notch taco house and they have one taco made with cauliflower that is super tasty. Get it every time I go there. And I am a carnivore to the max!

You COULD be right, but just because it wasn't in the article doesn't mean he didn't say it. The writer dictates what goes in the article, followed by the editor, etc to generate views, clicks, etc.

What is said verbatim I'm convinced is rarely accurately portrayed.
