It's late July, the slowest time of the Year for Sports... LBJ getting excited on the sidelines of his Son's BBall game is the biggest Non Story ever. I used to Coach Youth Basketball & 60% of the Parents were more obnoxious than this.

So his son doesn't seem to have a problem with it and neither does the kid he lost his shoe over...

If they got no problems with it, then why should we?

The amount of hate the media is going to throw at us this year is going to make last season look like amateur hour. Buckle up...

Yep. Dude loves the game and is kind of a goofball... so what? Media is going to scrutinize him and more generally the Lakers like Trump!

It's not all about celebrating dunks and stuff with Lebron and his kids. He wants to impart wisdom as well. I posted this video clip when it first happened months and months ago. Thought it was appropriate to bring it back up now.

Anyone think there's a slim chance Bronny jr. would by pass the draft and sign directly with the lakers? Assuming he's good enough to be an nba player....not like he'll need the $ lol

why not? I dont see any rules saying you can't.....why can't he just sign on as a "non drafted" player?

there are rules that would prevent that I think. Some team will of course draft him if he's draft eligible, but I think you have to throw your name in the ring too.

Be interesting to find the actual rules on that.

But on that play that Lebron was going crazy, did you notice the pass from the kid looked like it might have been a shovel alley oop pass between his legs? and the kid that scored got up HIGH! It was a pretty cool play, and one that a basketball savant with great court vision like Lebron could appreciate.

I don't understand all the hate tbh.

Don’t compare LeBron James to a racist. We are better than that.

I think he was saying the press would have a field day with him like the orange dude.

Of course, it would have been just as easy to say like every other Laker star from the last 20 years. It comes with the territory.

I'm certain you must enter the draft or make yourself eligible to be drafted. You can choose not to play with the team that drafts you and play overseas instead, but even older Euros must enter the draft once they become interested in playing in the NBA. I believe there is a certain amount of time though where you lose the draft rights to a player if they decide not to play for you and go overseas instead.

yep, no player may sign with the nba unless they have been eligible for one draft. if this was an actual loophole, the lakers might have 35 consecutive championships.

    I wasn’t... please read what I wrote.

What I was saying is that the media frenzy surrounding Trump and the hate for him will be similar if the Lakers are successful this coming season. Everything and everyone will be hyper scrutinized. We live in that type of environment right now where appropriate behavior, in keeping with good taste and propriety, does not matter. It's actually quite pathetic and sad.

It's disgusting that someone would attack LeBron for being a fun dad and supporting his kids. But, alas, that is the day we live in.

Oh I love it, bring it on. I’ve hated on LeBron many, many times, but it’s time to go for the chip now and he’s on our side.
