So, I really couldn’t stand LBJ but I find that my stance towards him has softened. I came to realize that part of my dislike for him came from some of his antics (well warranted) but mostly from BSPN’s manufactured rivalry between LBJ and Kobe.

At the end of the day, I’m a Lakers fan first and foremost. LBJ has made the Lakers relevant again and I feel hope and excitement for the future. In a very real sense LBJ is helping to restore the Lakers luster.

Just realized that the first game Lebron plays as a Laker will be the first game I have ever cheered for him, the first time I wanted him to win, and wanted his shots to go in.

I enjoyed some of his highlights, but I do not think I have ever wanted him to win a game against anybody. But each Lebron win is a Laker win, and I am fascinated with what he can do the with the vets and the rookies.

As he passes people on all-time lists he does so as a Laker, and it is good to follow a Laker doing this.

With the way things are going right now, I need to see some Laker wins, and I can't wait for the season to begin.

The quality of your dislike was low. You should dislike him for how he carries himself and his lack of character.

I got a taste of rooting for him for the first time in the ECF. First 2 rounds, rooted against him, but when it started to look like the C Bags could actually beat that crappy Cavs team without Kyrie and Hayward, it was an oh crap moment, and I had to root for LeBron to beat them so they didn’t reach the Finals a year early. He really turned some of my hate into respect that series, especially the one game where he was burying Kobe-esque threes in the final minutes to the put the game away. It won’t be easy to suddenly root for LeBron, but I think it will be easy to root for way more Lakers wins than we have seen in half a decade, with winning will come the cheering.

    I can’t stand him.

This is affecting my desire to watch ANY games going forward.

I wasn’t even sure it was possible anything could do that. I was wrong. I wouldn’t count on seeing me around much until he’s gone.

I’m trying to happy, but I’m not.

Dude. Kuzma/BI/Zo... Moe/Svi. Cheer up. We'll weather this too, much like we did with Smush and Kwame. With any luck, we'll be able to trade his a** in a Deng dump.

Kobe has given permission for you to love again. Don’t disappoint him. Be happy.

You are comparing those 2 to the dominant player on your team?

those who think it has anything to do with Kobe are completely missing the point and ignoring history

That being said, I do miss the days when we didn't know much about our sports "heroes" personal lives. It's easier to just root for or against athletes when you don't know if they are douches or not.

    Lebron is a douche. Don't @ me.

But to be fair, his douchiness has lessened in recent years. Slightly. Still not tolerable. And don't call our players young kings. They don't want to be like you. And to assume that means you're a douche.

They probably do want to be like him. Bron is their idol.

Speaking of Bron - I had a dream last night: we played our first game in Staples Center and Bron could not miss. He was unbelievable and hit like 7-8 threes in that game. Crowd went nuts. But our next main contributor was Sasha Vujacic who scored 20+ and played great defense and was shown talking to Kobe and Vanessa throughout the game. Yeah.

Can't hate on the Spurs... They are definitely a classy bunch!

To put it more eloquently...dear haters, either step your hate game up or step down and taking a f***ing seat.

The team works. Pop can still be stunningly wrong about certain things or lie strategically.

Well that "team" did work, but they're out of a service now...

An offseason where Kawhi, DannyG, Parker and Manu are out...my condolences.

Anyways, if LABron/Pop are stunningly wrong, I don't want to be right.

You actually buy woke LaBron not being fake persona?

One defensive specialist and two guys who are at the edge of not being able to hang on playoff roster as contributors. they had great careers.

Why would i assume SA is dead and burried?

It doesn't matter if he's been woke, took too long to get there or isn't woke enough...he's taking action and that's all that should matter. There are many mute non-participating woke people in this world...that's part of the problem.

You said you became a fan of the Spurs in 2013...well that team is dead. I have the utmost respect for Pop and how the Spurs organization has been run for years now...I got nothing hateful to say about them. I also wanted to have "names" like DeMar and LaMarcus join LA in free agency cause those guys are still all-stars and are trade assets even if they don't work out here (unlike the "name" that was Deng). But my biggest fear in the league isn't being the worst team (the draft helps you get better), its being cap-strapped with "names" that only make you a middle of the pack team (see Portland). SA with DeMar and LeMarcus put SA more and more in that tier of team and you can't compete off of Pop's brilliance alone (see Phil/Kobe/LO teams with trash around them).
