What were our odds in the PG sweepstakes? Genuinely curious.

I looked all over for them like a week ago. I don't think Vegas did odds on him. As much as we pumped up PG this season because we honestly thought he was the first big free agent we were going to sign in a long time, he's really not better than the 3rd player on a championship squad. A lot of casual fans probably wouldn't even know who he is.

This is from yesterday, before George signed, but still noteworthy.

Says Philly will have a chance to make a pitch, but the way Windhorst talks about them suggests they’re an afterthought. Says all the momentum is in LA’s favor and that he has plans for how he’s going to make his announcement.

“Lebron has his own timeframe. Obviously when he makes up his mind he’s going to have to alert the parties. He has his own way he’s got it planned he’s going to release that information ... basically if they don’t botch the meeting I think Lebron’s going to the Lakers”.

So again, I don’t think the fact that Lebron hasn’t signed yet is “hesitation”. I think he’s made up his mind, but he wants to show some respect to other franchises, here out their pitches, and then make his announcement on his own terms.

Did you catch where he said he thinks it will be a 1+1 contract like what Durant did? I’m not sure how I feel about that, would that be good or bad, being held hostage by LeBron for a season?

Windhorst has been a little more gangster the last few days. I think I'm starting to like him.

Well I can't move off my point, the argument I've always had which is hoping that if Lebron signs with us that it's not more than a 3 year deal. I've grown to accept that it will likely be a max deal meaning 4 years.

So..I'm okay if its a 1+1 deal even if it means having to do this circus all over again. That kind of mileage, wear and tear will be costly at some point.

I would like a long term contract so there’s no chance he bolts next year. If he takes a 1+1 I’m sure there would be some drama next summer. But I think regardless at the end of the day, he would not leave after just one year barring a complete failure on our end. Would look terrible to give up on his new team after one year.

And I think overall 1+1 works in our favor in the sense that I could see him opting out and restructuring his deal to give us more flexibility in Free Agency 2019. Might take a little less to help squeeze in Kawhi or some other supporting roleplayers.

A 1+1 for both Cousins and Lebron would he ideal at this moment. If they both pan out, Lebron is in his 15th year, who knows how his health will end up, than the Lakers have a clear shot this year of competing for a title if BI, Kuz, Hart, Lonzo and Randle go up a notch in skillset.

This is where I am right now. It's not a lock anymore obviously, but I know he knew George was out from the get go and he's still interested in us, so we're still the favorites. I'm not doom and gloom yet.

We just have to stay patient and make the right moves. A rumor that's been floated a couple times is the Lakers trading for someone more established, maybe not even necessarily Kawhi. No names really thus far, but just a concept that shows the Lakers and LeBron might be more confident in our flexibility than others.

More or less what I figured, but a bird in the hand and all that. I'll hold the champagne pop for now.

Hopefully the nanosecond after lebron signs with the lakers Kawhi goes public with: "There's absolutely positively in no uncertain terms I'll play for any team other than the lakers. So bend over Beuford and take the magical Johnson.

How the **** can he have made his decision if he hasn't formally had a meeting with the Lakers yet? For no tampons scrutiny? That's how it's done now with the biggest free agent of the decade .... just a phone call that hasn't been made public yet after 12:01 yesterday and they gave him a one minute pitch and contract dollar # and that's it?
