Your argument is flawed because we had no idea that things would shape up the way they did. Those events with Shaq, Kobe, Phil, etc. were happening in real time so to speak.

But our hindsight is 20/15, 20/10 on Lebron, anybody who still wants the circus to come into town then so be it, but just don’t be the ones complaining when things go exactly as the “haters” have said. I mean it’s not like we NEED Lebron, according to most of the comments I see on here, it would just be nice to have him.

If we are the best franchise in the land, why do we need to hate anybody? You only hate because you can’t reach. They hate us, they need to beat us. Fans have been chanting “Beat LA” for decades. No other franchise can say that. Even when we suck we have more headlines than any other franchise. When we’re back on top again those chants will be resurrected.

I know we are the best but we will have to agree to disagree on Lebron because as Laker fans we want what is best for our franchise so we can get back to winning championships and being hated by everyone again. Some of you want instant gratification and I want to last and be on top for at least a decade or more. I believe Lebron will set us back and ruin our growth, some of you do not agree and that’s okay.

    Paragraph 1 - Agree 100%
Paragraph 2 - James doesn't really bother me... The media fawning is a different story.
Paragraph 3 - Nah...can never, ever, ever, ever like them. Respect? Begrudgingly so... Like? Nope...

Yikes... It's a civil war amongst Laker fans and let me be the first to apologize to any fellow fan I rubbed the wrong way.

Allow me to clarify: I'm an a****** that takes things too far at times and/or does not carefully convey my proper thoughts.

@Cookie @Lakeshow85 I have no authority or intention of discrediting your Laker fandom. My "Laker card" comment was meant to be tongue in cheek and obviously there's no right or wrong way to be a fan. Sorry if I was disrespectful or made you feel like you had to prove your Laker allegiance in any way. I was attempting to be cheeky and said those things in jest..But obviously failed miserably. My bad.

I'm all about not following blindly and like you guys having a problem with Magic/Rob possibly targeting LeBron this summer, I too had problems with how the previous management ran our Lakers into the ground. So I get that we shouldn't follow blindly and naïvely and in that manner we're actually quite similar.

Where we disagree is the misunderstanding behind disliking LeBron more than the Cbags. I'm not even questioning your dislike for LeBron...I really don't even care for that aspect. However what I do not understand is that you can hate something or someone more than the Cbags. I've given you imho valid reasons as to why we should all hate the Cbags as Laker fans more than anything. However imho you guys have not given me an appropriate reason as to why LeBron deserves more hate than the Cbags.

The argument of him talking in 3rd person about his younger self and the accomplishments they achieved... His flopping... His theatrics in trying to draw a whistle...Calling himself King/Chosen1...Witnessing his decisions...his media horde driving nauseatingly how he's the best to the public...

I get the hate and I understand why some of you don't want that type of noise on the Lakers. But to hate that more than an organization that has taken away countless titles away from us. Really?

We are the best franchise in all of sports, but the thing is we really aren't. In an industry where numbers mean everything, you're telling me the guy that has a 1 tatted on his back bothers you more than a franchise that has 17 titles to our 16? Till we overcome that number, we're not the best. Facts!

Again this isn't about Bron coming to the Lakers and if that makes you a fan or not. This is about being part of an organization where one man directly never harmed our title hunt, yet you hate him more than an organization that has.

    Agree to disagree... Strongly!

Nah, we’re definitely the best franchise. The C Bags won 9 of their titles when there 8-10 teams in the league. Meh. Since 1980, the C Bags have won 4 championships, the Lakers have won 10. That means we are better. There’s a reason we don’t have separate banners for the 5 Minneapolis titles, but instead one commemorative one, they’re nice and everything, but let’s be real it’s not the same league, it’s not the same game. C Bags fans can shout “17 to 16!” all they want, but I’d bet most of them weren’t alive for half of those, so whatever. We’ll pass the abritaty 17 mark soon enough though, and that will be a great day.

I really don't get how anyone can hate LeBron more than our hated rivals. He has never denied us a championship. We have never faced any of his teams in the playoffs. Remember 2008? And if our hated rivals get to the finals and KD tears his ACL in game 1, they hoist championship number 18.

It's not about the guys on that team now. This is still the team that kept West and Baylor ringless for so long. The same franchise of the extremely obnoxious Red Auerbach. The same franchise of Bird, McHale, Parrish, the dirty play, the cheapshot artists, their disgusting fan base, that $!$$# parquet floor of that bleephole garden. The antics of the wheelchair, and his merry band of ****boys on that god forsaken crew. LeBron? Yeah the media kisses his behind and he's arrogant, but how does that supersede the generations of torment those aholes have heaped on us for 60 years? There have been plenty of arrogant and narcissistic superstars over the years.

    I don't get it.

    Weak...:p

So when we get to that arbitrary 17, will the Cbags still be there waiting for us?

Toronto and Vancouver joined the league in 1995, so do or titles from the 80s count?

Cmon Weez, that's flawed reasoning and you know it bro.

    Weaker...

Okay here’s the difference. My concern is only for our team, the growth of our young players and the culture we have going here that I really like.

If I’m honest I don’t care about a franchise because the C Bags can not directly effect our team. Hating them or not hating them is not going to make our team better or worse. It’s not going to change our culture...

Lebron, however, can and does directly effect our team and its future. Sure he makes us better, now, but he will ultimately make us worse by bringing his system and his players here and then once the relationship has run its course we’d be worse off. Lebron ruins another franchise.

I’m thinking about the team, you guys are thinking about pride and you’re failing to see that yes one guy will have an impact on our team way worse than what an organization can ever do to us.

This rivalry is long before any of our times anyway, so we technically have no say in the hate, except for the fact that we’re supposed to hate them.

That 2008 team who we all agree we absolutely despise, we got them back in 2010. Why are we hating them now? Because that’s what we’re supposed to do? What have they done recently?

Sure we can still hate them once the rivalry begins again, but it’s dormant right now and if they do not directly effect us how can you all be okay with our roster / culture possibly being effected by one person.

And I knew you were playing around with the whole Laker card thing @vasashi17, I’ve heard it before lol so no need to apologize, well I’m only speaking for myself.

Lakers vs C Bags Finals next year can happen if the Lakers get PG and Lebron. Lonzo, Bi and Kuz would have to improve also. Unless Rob can get rid of Deng and the draft picks to clear that money, Randle would be gone if PG and Lebron sign.

I rather have bron lose early to increase our chances of landing him.. . Even if it's 5% AND due to the fact whoever wins is getting their a**** kicked by the Western Conference representative anyways!

Those wanting C Bags to win aren't rooting for them to win a championship lol. After the series let's just say f*** the C Bags for good..

"He makes us better now but will ultimately make us worse..." But that can be said about any star led team. That's why it's called a rebuild. You capitalize on that opportunity and if you're savage enough, you still get some assets back once its run its course (see Boston). We knew the beef Phil had with ownership in Chicago. We still brought him and his baggage along. Why? Cause titles yo. We knew how Shaq and Penny dissipated in Orlando... If we didn't know, you best believe the Logo did, and we still brought him to the Lakers. Why? Cause titles yo. Bron has been to 7 Finals straight. Yeah yeah yeah, it's the lEast and he's lost the majority of his visits there, but he's still been a major cog to the teams that he's led there, so if we're about titles, you have to consider bringing him here.

I think here in lies the problem. True, most of us are younger than those 80s teams and have no idea what happened in the 70s. But if you look at some of the archives, you get a better idea why they are our rivals (and it's a legit rivalry unlike this washed up Cavs vs Warriors one). Some of those loses to them are down right painful. Folks want to bring up how the total of 17 vs 16 isn't legit cause Russell had the advantage against a smaller talentless pool back in the day. Well just watch how Jerry West had to battle the Cbags in the Finals back in the day...Dude was so good, he got Finals MVP in a losing cause (becoming the only player to ever do that)..But he still lost and lost and lost....Watch that horror, get familiar with it and then try coming back saying LLLLLebron with a straight face knowing just how many titles they robbed from the Logo and our beloved Lakers. That's pain bruh and no way in hell does that 2010 victory cover it up.

You still hate the cbags for not only having more franchise titles, but for also having a direct hand in taking away titles from us in the Finals....Something Bron hasn't done. But I guess Bron is doom.. just like this phantom injury some have already pegged him with the moment he gets here, some of you think it's inevitable that he'll leave our franchise in shambles and trade away all our youth. Well damn, let's just go balls to the wall and accuse him of murdering Gilbert and what we see is a Delos clone running that Cavs team. Oh and he's for sure juicing and beating his wife...Forget due process. He will do all these things, if he hasn't done it already. Just give it time and witness his criminal record.

Till we're comfortably ahead in total franchise titles, that rivalry isnt dormant imho.

And again to be clear... This isn't about Bron joining the Lakers... This is about, as it presently stands with him on the Cavs, how any Laker fan can hate Bron more than the Cbags is beyond me.

Either way, great discussion with you my dude.

Not going to lie, it's fun seeing Lebron get spanked by the C Bags. Not because it's them, I just like seeing him lose. Sorry I guess that reveals my ultimate feelings about him. Still, I'll take him on our team. I think it's our best bet to get back to contention. And I'm not rooting for the C Bags. It's GS all the way for me. I'm still not even convinced the C Bags win this series, actually. It's not easy to close out Lebron with the way he's playing. I thought the Pacers were going to do it, but they couldn't.

I think we can make it to the Finals if we can resign Randle. The problem will be will will likely be facing either Houston or Golden State as early as the second round. If Lebron and PG come here and the kids improve, if next year's champion comes out of the West, they will have EARNED it. Can you imagine if the Lakers won it next year? They will have likely beaten the Harden/Paul Rockets, the Curry/Durant/Klay/Draymond Warriors, and the Irving/Hayward/Horford C Bags. That would be an insane run.

I agree with Vasashi... the rivalry with the C Bags is not dormant and will NEVER dormant as long as both franchises exist. I'm not as old as Time... probably as old as GC and I clearly remember the 80s. I HATE the C Bags with a passion. I don't even like Kelly Green because of them. Danny Ainge is a punk and I would slap him so hard if I saw him in person. I HATE HATE HATE those guys and when we surpass them in total titles that hate still won't subside. I've never hated anything in my life other than the C Bags. I had a business partner decades ago that was skimming and soaked me for $500K and I don't hate him. I reserve my hate for the C Bags only. As a matter of fact, I hate any team in Boston just because it is that area of the country. I hope the whole state slides into the ocean.
