Lebron contract is for the playoffs where he was the 2nd or 3rd best player in the western conference and probably the league (whoever won that denver/LAL series was going to win the title).

Considering cross comparisons he's still 7 in box plus minus, 13th in PER currently

I think stating that it's business is not a great argument

great that he's there for the playoffs. but we have to get there.

if you want to argue he's still top 7 overall in the regular season, you can. i don't agree.

    Top 15? He's making 47 millions a year
A list of players making more then 40 a year
    • 1. Stephen Curry: $51,915,615
    • 2. Kevin Durant: $47,649,433
    • 3. Nikola Jokic: $47,607,350
    • 3. LeBron James: $47,607,350
    • 3. Joel Embiid: $47,607,350
    • 6. Bradley Beal: $46,741,590
    • 7. Paul George: $45,640,084
    • 7. Kawhi Leonard: $45,640,084
    • 7. Giannis Antetokounmpo: $45,640,084
    • 7. Damian Lillard: $45,640,084
    • 11. Jimmy Butler: $45,183,960
    • 12. Klay Thompson: $43,219,440
    • 13. Rudy Gobert: $41,000,000
    • 14. Fred VanVleet: $40,806,300
    • 15. Anthony Davis: $40,600,080
    • 16. Trae Young: $40,064,220
    • 16. Zach LaVine: $40,064,220
    • 16. Luka Doncic: $40,064,220
    • 19. Tobias Harris: $39,270,150

Combine this where in th playoff performance he was better than anyone not named Jokic I think the contract griping looks pretty weak.

Its really tough to separate business from on the court with a guy like LeBron given the impact he has on ticket sales and merchandise even for a franchise like ours.

    He's a walking cash machine.

Add to it that he's still putting up roughly 25, 7, and 7 and his contract becomes a pretty easy sell for a franchise IMO.

It it were baseball he would've beaten Ohtani to getting a billion dollar contract.

I don’t mind the non closing out and boxing out, I just hope we make it to the playoffs, I’ll b**** about these things if he still doesn’t do it…

"you do you" wasn't really meant as aggressive as it sounds, tbh. i get that other people look for other things in players.

i just get extremely annoyed when guys can't be bothered to do things that are expected of all players on the court.

I think he's been pretty awesome this season. Only real bad stretch was when he got the flu/cold and the Phoenix game where he turned his ankle

Pretty much worth every penny lol

The problem I have with LeBron’s lack of effort on the defensive end most nights is that our starting unit, when DLO and Austin are in, literally has three of the five playing below average defense. Obviously, out of the three, LeBron has the greatest ability to ratchet up the intensity.
As most have been saying, Vando HAS to be in the starting unit because of these deficiencies. If we had a halfway decent coach, the lineups would have already been maximized for optimal offensive and defensive efficiency after week two of the season.

Dlo was acquired for Westbrook .. who was Lebron's mistake .

Lebron didn't fight for keeping KCP after one bad series against the Suns ( and wasn't vocal in the press about keeping Caruso) ...

I was not an advocate for the Westbrook trade but from what I read both AD and LeBron were worried about injuries and wanted someone who could carry the team and the Nets looks super scary to everyone

    Clearly they were wrong .

i'm pretty sure that's exactly why lebron wanted westbrick. he figured westbrick would carry the team some nights and allow himself or AD to rest more often. sounds good on paper, but of course lebron clearly didn't consider the pieces they'd be losing in acquiring him or that westbrick just wasn't a good fit alongside him and AD

and yes, the nets big 3 is a big reason why they went out and made that deal

Looks like a second round pick to me unless he really steps up his production. USC hasn't been good despite a good recruiting class

Would he be on draft boards if he wasn't Lebron's kid?

He's athletic, jumper looks pretty decent, and is a good defender. He's a definitely a prospect but he seems more likely to peak at a tyus jones type IMO.
