The narrative of GS wasting the last few years of Curry's career is so annoying to me. They won the 2022 title! That was the happy ending they're looking for now. Curry was 32, Draymond was 31. That's about when guys win their last titles. I think the Spurs winning in 2014 with a 38 year old Duncan warped everyone's perception of what old stars are owed by their teams.

not dead weight, imo, as he's a team option (hence expiring) AND he could be sold as a young guy with growth potential. i get why teams haven't been that interested in him, but i could also see worlds in which he thrives in a different role--one gs can't offer (kind of like knecht here).

and we got lebron his last title in 2020, when he was 35. we don't owe him more rings or mortgaging the future to slightly elevate the current puncher's chance.

duncan was in his third year of making roughly 1/6 of salary cap (vs. lebron's and steph's current 1/3) and had settled into a support role (whilst still being good and important of course).

all of these are just different situations, imo.

Screw that. AR should come off the bench. Subbing for Melton. Or what-his-face-from-indiana. Or... I don't even know,

For sure, although fwiw I think Duncan was actually still the best player on that team.

Zen …. :KobeConfused: why’s that sarcasm in response to my post? I know you don’t believe the AR off the bench for Melton? Me mentioning him after LeBron just meant we need him healthy and being HIM too. All 3 of these guys.

I think from a fan perspective is that Curry is still really good and his team had declined more then he has? It's tough for teams as I wouldn't have expected it with Curry either.

But in the GS case they are still smarting from the Wiseman pick. I don't blame them. Not only was he bust but they decided to do the two timeline instead of just trading the pick for a vet. Double flop on that draft

possibly. but the fact that one could make legitimate arguments for parker, manu, and leonard shows that the depth mattered a lot.

just reminded me of that… this constant need to put one of the best players in the league on the bench in favor of … some bums for the sake of some balance.

Just watched the highlights. It’s frightening how we seem to be completely incapable of keeping players out of the paint.

He looked REALLY good out there last night. He had pep in his step. Thought he controlled the game. Had some good on ball defense, too. Plus he and Luka are getting some about- time chemistry reps.

Luka should be that efficient in his scoring.

James is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Spurs due to left foot joint arthritis and a right sciatica injury.

Wednesday's game is the second leg of a back-to-back set, and the Lakers are considering giving James a maintenance day.
Why he played yesterday and today is he s injured
I get that he is 41 and and stuff, but in this case Luka and Ayton should not play too

They said last night it was going to depend on how he felt when he woke up from his afternoon nap.

Why? Cause he's 41 and was one of our two best players last night and looks to be back to that form. Stars in their prime load manage on back to backs in today's league. You want to run the oldest man in the NBA world into the ground in January for what?

Split is better than dropping both.

Secure the one you know you can win. Spurs are #2 in the West.

Without Bron, we don't beat NO last night.

Even with a rested Bron tonight and a tired rest of the team, I don't love the odds against SA.

SA is an 8 point favorite going into the game.

I wonder if this part of the improved play is that he is more confident about the sciatica. He took shots straight to the chest and gave it back to JJ and Zion.

It's a scheduled b2b loss. Which is too bad because we're behind them in the standings. But who knows... Luka may score 74 tonight and break his own scoring record.
