If/when LeBron retires or goes to another team and demands taking Bronny with him, that’s a slap in the face of FO.

Retire and take your kid with you. You did enough. Just go.

I’m trying not to overthink that but it definitely raised my eyebrows a bit.

It's hard not to be a little suspicious. Windhorst is on TV saying he wants to stay in LA and has given no indication to the team that they should do anything besides upgrade the roster. That's not the same thing as saying he definitely isn't getting traded, which is something LeBron could come out and say because he has the no trade clause.

Hopefully this is all nonsense and not trade smoke or a real personal/family problem. Hopefully they just want to give him some time off.

honestly, i'm wondering if his foot is jacked and he's thinking about how hard it's going to be to play well enough on it to make the damned play-in in the western conference. so he's considering just walking out. i doubt it, but it's just a weird/unnecessary way to frame the absence, imo.

Lebron's about to turn 40 - he can take some personal time off for goodness sake. I don't get the hoopla. He hasn't demanded a trade nor will he. He wants Rob to make some moves to improve the roster, and I agree with him.

Honestly - let him sit for a couple of weeks. He didn't look good for like half of November and early December...he needs a break and he's not helping our team right now esp defensively

not concerned about a trade demand. concerned he's pondering what he has left, even in the short-term.

Have some dignity and announce this is your last year. Kobe didn’t announce his until around this time as well in 2015.

You get to get your flowers and chocolates and retire with some dignity and respect from the Lakers community. Lakers need to get out of this rut and that’s the easiest way to start it.

I read some stuff on a PDiddy connection. That would not be good. But I'm sure people are just taking advantage of the situation to get clicks...

If he leaves, he leaves. The Lakers won before Lebron, and we’ll win after he’s gone. My allegiance is to the P&G.

Bron managed to win over a significant portion of Lakers fans, me included, but I don't anticipate many of us to really miss him once he's gone. Thank you for everything, but... enjoy your retirement and hopefully it comes sooner rather than later.

    this year should be it.

he's breaking down early and looks old in more than half the games, imo. that said, he's got 50 million on the table for next year, so it's a tough call. whatever it is, i'm pretty sure if he didn't see the writing on the wall before, he does now. i imagine he, like the rest of us, had been holding out hope another superstar would demand out early this year (donovan mitchell would have been my bet in the summer), but that's clearly not going to happen. he knows we're play-in bound again, and the narrative that he's propping us up and needs help is too far-fetched for even his most ardent supporters to float.

Yeah. This is what I was alluding to. There are some rumors out there that have been circulating for a bit. It's all tabloid stuff so I don't generally pay it much attention but the wording of this did make that pop in my head.
