The players you listed are fine players, but almost all NBA players are. It’s not a good roster LT, being positive about it doesn’t change that. If I asked you hooked up to a lie detector if you’d swap our roster 3-15 with every team ahead of us in the West (and ahead of us record-wise in the East) and you said no, you’d likely fail. All these teams have something in common aside from talent and depth, CONTINUITY. All these teams have been building something and go into each season with most of their team returning. Every season we go in and half our team or more is new. That’s BAD team building, and it’s why we aren’t winning anything of note until we stop doing it and start building and committing to a real roster. This is what we’ve always done by the way, this nonsense we’re doing right now is new. The showtime Lakers, the 90’s Lakers pre and post-Shaq/Kobe did this, the 2000’s Lakers did, the Kobe/Pau/Odom Lakers did, the 2020 title Lakers did. For some reason Rob tore that down though, and has decided insane course correcting and entirely new rosters yearly are the way to go. I’m rooting for this team, I always am, but I’m also a realist, this is not sustainable, and they’re playing with fire using a year 20 LeBron like this.

It wasn’t that way (huge roster turnover) the season after the ring. Good acquisitions and players with experience back. Russ trade made it so last year and this year. In spite of that, which was the point of my post, because AD and LeBron are still the top dual IMO in the league, IF we can bring one or two more good players in we are right there in the West as it’s shaking out this year. Let’s see.

I wouldn’t hold my breath, not only will they not trade either of our first round picks, but it doesn’t seem they’re interested in taking on anyone that isn’t on an expiring deal either. Hard to make any moves of note when you covet cap space above trying to win now with when you have one of the greatest players of all time, likely better than any player we will ever have in a Lakers uniform from here on out.

Probably just old man maintenance. Lakers are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. Give him today off and the next game is Thursday which will give him 4 days off to recoup.

It's smart to manage his work load so he doesn't break down and miss an extended stretch.

Bummer. Tonight was probably a loss anyway, but then again I won’t count us out completely because we won last time he sat.

Yeah, they were playing competitively, I wouldn't have counted them out but if LBJ's game is compromised at all due to the ankle then forget it. Take advantage of the break in the schedule, we got AD back in less than 2 weeks probably. We weren't winning with a 70% LBJ. Someone has to offset the Joker's 25/10/9

It's load management, because we're writing this off as a loss. Playing against #1 team in the West, on the road... nah. He should rest.

Bullsh*t... LeBron will not leave, that much is clear. It is clear to everyone that the reason he came to the Lakers was the "legacy". What better testament than to end his career at the most popular basketball club in the world?! Otherwise there is no logic in its being effective in the summer of 2018. The shortcut to a ring? The Lakers had a 30 win season, that's fun... DiLo was gone, and neither was Julius Randle. The other options were Houston with the Beard and Philadelphia with Embiid and Simmons...

i don't think he'll leave, and if he did, i really don't think we'd be devastated. it's just the media getting off on lakers schadenfreude, per usual.

I think it is much less likely he leaves now that he walked back the requirement of playing with his son and is OK with playing against him, if his team isn't in position draft Bronny.
