While I’m not sure I agree, I like the sentiment and that one of his peers may outdo him on titles.

We could be. With him and Westbrick again, we will be an AWFUL defensive team again.

Trading him may net us more than the benefit of the 50 games he plays this year

Just curious, do you think we are going to pay Bron max money or is he taking a pay cut? Also do you think he’s worth max money at this point?

There's only like 7 people that post on the regular.

The other 2 are Russ Stans. Shouldn't be that bad.

Just because we don’t agree with your take on a player doesn’t make us stans.

i think he'll extend at max (higher rate of pay than now) for two full years, no options on either side. that will take him through age 40 and us to the end of AD's deal. at that point, my guess is lebron retires and we either re-tool around AD or move completely on from everything.

this is why i think it's crucial we get something about of westbrook, btw--we aren't going to have cap space to attract anyone, so we need trade assets if we're going to compete for the next 2-3 years.

and i don't think svtzr or slick are russ stans. i think svtzr's takes are pretty reasonable, i just disagree on russ's current value. i think slick sort of stans his own opinions and refuses to update them in the face of objective evidence. hence: russ is still not bad. i agree with svtzr that russ wasn't that bad prior to coming here, and there was reason to believe things could work. i just watched what happened last year and changed my mind--he's not wired to adjust his game, and his athleticism has taken a huge drop.

anyway, i've resigned myself to the fact that he'll be here for at least a bit longer. and imo, it's on lebron as a leader to try and make it work in that case. it's his golden years he's spending on a team that is neck and neck with the sacramento kings.

Likely it will be max money. He was not worth max money last season with his no defense and selfish play. I'm hoping Ham with his enhanced coaching powers can get him to be more of a team guy this season. I would like to see Lebron down around 28 min a game and more focused on defense. Not from an individual perspective but an organizer on the court. I would give Lebron the easiest player to guard every game and let him cheat and cut off passing lanes, talk and keep us in position. He could pull a Magic Johnson and mentor the young guys. Lebron is a high IQ player and has a ton to offer if he chooses, it will hurt his stats but gives him a better chance at more championships. Ham seems to like player and ball movement paired with some stingy defense. I love the coaching hire and not as fearful of a Lebron extension as I would have been. I would still prefer to not extend him till he shows a better team attitude. I agree though that it is inevitable. Coach Ham is a serious coach with a clear vision of how he wants his team to play. He worked hard for this chance and isn't going to pi$$ it away. We are getting ready to witness a huge change in team culture.

i hope so, toklat. if we had a good culture last year, we'd have been at least watchable, even with the injuries.

Because he plays only half of the game, he shouldn’t be paid the max.
Because he’s LeBron, and our FO is more about the facade of winning, he will get it.
IF AD can return to the top five player we know he can be, stay on the floor, and the black hole otherwise known as Westbrick can be shipped out for some help, we can be a decent team this upcoming season. Oh yeah, Rob has to somehow assemble a well rounded team with very little to work with.
At least we have the shrewd guidance of Linda, Jeanie and Magic to get us back on track!
BTW, I was at Sofi last light watching a show and on the way out drove past the construction site of the new Clipper Arena. I hate even seeing their signs up on the fences but am glad it won’t be long until they are failing in their own house.

I respect the site rules and Cookie has already told me not to go back and forth with you.

But maybe instead of labelling people with nonsense, you should look to add some valuable insight to the chat instead.

LOL, I’m always curious how old people are when they say things like that. Congratulations though, incredible achievement, you’ve been posting on a forum longer than someone else, bravo!
