i'm not sure if klutch matters as much without lebron. unless they sign luka, which i think they're trying to do.

clips overpaid for PG, and i think they and everyone else realizes that. also, if our fans want to move AD, imagine the negotiating position other gms will have. i wouldn't even consider it.

anyway, my point was we don't have our picks, and without AD, we'll suck really bad. our picks will be better than the ones that would be coming in due to all the protections.

on the other hand, our 2024 pick looks to be fully unprotected, so being terrible in 2023-24 wouldn't help us land future building blocks.

we need to keep next summer's books clear. lebron can just walk, and we can be creative in using our space. or we could cooperate with lebron to s&t him to wherever bronny is and net some guys to help us stay competitive in the short term without compromising the long-term.

Yeah, we probably continue with AD, plus another younger star player. I don't think we are going to go go nuclear and completely dismantle the team. I mean, I'd even be OK with that if we had young dudes like Zo, Hart, Ingram, Kuzma, Randle and Zubac (what a team, right?)... but we don't. Reaves, Monk, Stan are good players, but they are not going to carry the team.

Something else to think about is that the 2023 free agent class is really meh if you don't count Lebron: https://www.spotrac.com/nba/free-agents/2023/

Is there anyone on that list you think can be a 1A option that you would be willing give a 4 year max deal to?

Nah, Phil just wanted to go casual

But seriously though, with Yao you can chalk it up to him being the most successful Chinese player to ever play in the NBA. He raked in the all star votes to support that. Steve Smith is at least on TV so the 90s NBA fans might catch him on a broadcast, remember him and be like, oh yeah... those 90s Hawks were my jam. Bibby I got nothing. Maybe during his 3 years with the Hawks, they picked up Atlanta games for their local broadcast since they don't have a NBA team and he really left an impression? Or he made some personal connections there when he'd make the trip from ATL to Alabama for?...fireworks or for beer on Sunday? (Neither were legal buys in GA during his time here)

Bringing it back to Bronny and where he ranks nationally

This is part of the deal. The Lakers signed up for this. Usually Lebron and Klutch throw their tantrums and passive aggressive selfish nonsense 1 year before free agency so Im more surprised at the timing but I expected this.

To compare to wrestling Lebron is like Cena, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. Polarizing figures but they’re cash cows for business especially loved by young fans who crave entertainment and highlights and don’t quite know substance . He’s not going to be respected like the greats and legends with his meddling, bts manipulating and blatant nepotism.

The Lakers have to play this game within the game and just have to put up with BTS nonsense and news material that has very little to do with on court championship aspirations.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he wants to go play in Cleveland ASAP. Why wait??

LOL so now Russ obviously knows his buds wanted his a** traded too. LeGM screws the pooch and Klutch has tantrum because Rob won't fix it. Though that rumored deal including Wood would have made sense and helped going forward.

I wonder if LeBron, Cavs, Jazz could work out a three team deal in the offseason that lands us Mitchell, sends LBJ to the Cavs and some youth to Utah?

I’m somewhat surprised at this statement. In the past you have been supportive of team/player/GM etc. relationships and how they impact our teams perception around the league. I’ve never really been on that train as much, hence why I’m surprised.

Ohhhh… are they gonna make Rob the scapegoat for this failed season… he shares part of the blame but Russ was LeGM. Wonder if Jeanie will finally break silence on the season and address this

Rob would have made the trade if AD didn't get hurt every 15 minutes.

At this point, f*** Klutch, f*** LeBron and trade AD in the Summer. It's exhausting trying to cheer for a scumbag, entitled quitter when things get tough.
