Aaron Gordon just missed 5-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain and he's considerably younger. These injuries sometimes never fully heal

    Season's over

Yeah we are in trouble, he was mad, he knew he was hurt bad. It’s amazing how one idiot nobody like Solomon Hill can hurt a team’s title chances like this, disrupting a players legacy in the process. I think fines should be given for diving on the floor into other players’ legs. This isn’t football.

If he's out longer than 4 weeks, we're screwed... unless we somehow get Beal.
    God damn injuries :(

I don't know, even the best-case scenario of 6 weeks seems pretty bad. Like as in we slip out of the playoffs bad.

Is this karma after telling everyone he should have a dozen or so mvps?

is this the injury that signals the beginning of the end?

One thing I hope is the Lakers and Lebron camp will be better at communicating on the return timeline than they were on his groin injury

i'd say it was unlucky more than dangerous. hill was just trying to go for the ball and lebron's body ended up moving into hill's direction as he went down

just sucks that it has to be some dumba** scrub like hill

tbh, i didn't like our chances with AD's injury seeming pretty serious, and this certainly removes the easier road to repeat (high seed with an easy 1st round opponent).

that said, i don't think we slip out of the playoffs entirely, and i do think both should be able to play in the playoffs.

all the more reason winning last year was crucial and amazing--never know when a solomon hill could end everything.

yea, it is unfortunate as our guys were stepping up and getting wins in AD's absence... now more than ever, i hope everyone appreciates our return to glory in bringing home another title last year... it's a good life lesson, really... i won't go off on a huge tangent here, but, seriously, things can change, lives can end, in a heartbeat... nothing is guaranteed in this life, so i still relish last year's victory and am trying to find some semblance of solace at the moment.

maybe we grind it out, go in as the 7th seed, and make a hell of a run... who knows... but i think we were really making due without AD, so this is a big blow... embrace the chaos, uncertainty, and low points in life

1st and 2nd seed are not that desirable right now...

Nope. But gosh darn it all to heck. :swear:

When it first happened and even on the first replay I thought it happened with no contact on a push off and didn’t see him stepping on a foot to roll an ankle or notice Hill rolling into the side until the next angle and then slow mo. With where he was grabbing I thought “he felt his achilles pop”.

We had a very short break after winning the title. A big disadvantage for the finalists to start with. AD going down is a HUGE loss. Gasol, Kuz, AC, Scroeder all missing significant time. This season was a challenge from the get go.

On a positive note, this Lakers team is deep. They are going to lose more games than expected and will likely get seeded much lower than a healthy squad would have. Still this is a talented team who should keep us alive. After AD returns we'll see an uptick. If and when LBJ returns the team will simply need to find its chemistry. Will all that occur is anybody guess but at least this is all happening early enough in the season for there to be a chance for recovery.

Can't take 2 of the top NBA players off a roster for a significant period of time and not expect some downers.

Clippernation just got a temporary reprieve..

just getting into the playoffs should be the goal for as long as AD and lebron are both out

if they slip to the 7-8 seed and have to play the jazz or clippers in round 1, then so be it. they would've had to go through those teams to win it all anyways
