Good to see Lebron is at least smiling. Must have been rough for him being one of the last to speak with kobe.

I really like this guy more every day. His insta post was so heartfelt. I hope Kobe helps him from above closing a few games and through the season. I think he is putting a lot on his shoulders coming up. The city and Lakers nation needs something to cheer for and help ease the pain. I he can lead us and win it for Kobe.

I know we are all still grieving, but I just want to briefly acknowledge Lebron and how I’m so happy and proud that he is Laker and that I can’t think of any one player currently in the league more suited to carry this franchise forward during these hard times.

I’ve long been a Lebron hater but no more. His reaction off the plane and his heartfelt words regarding Kobe felt real. I’m prepared to fully embrace him in the Lakers family, and look forward to him leading us to championships again. He’s one of us now.

I don’t personally want these Lakers to have the pressure of winning it all this year for Kobe, that’s a LOT to carry/handle. But IF they do, it would have to be one of the greatest stories in NBA history and one of the most meaningful titles for a city and for a player like LeBron in the history of sports.

Taking on that pressure and responsibility is unnecessary and too much, in my opinion, though I absolutely respect it. To me, LeBron has been a great leader on and off the court for this organization since he came here. This is coming from a guy who hated on him for many years. If he continues this type of leadership through this difficult time and represents the purple and gold the way he has, championship or not, he'll be a Laker for life in my eyes.

My two sons’ choice of shoe when they played in HS. I remember them being super lightweight.

I don't need them to win a title for Kobe this year. But like a lot of you, I feel profoundly changed by this experience, as though it's a call to arms to embody the Mamba Mentality every day because you don't know when it's your last, and you're not making the most of your time here if you don't. That's what Kobe stood for. To him, the drive, that "push," that ceaseless determination was what greatness was about. Not the result. As long as the players get that, and they show what that Mamba Mentality means on the court for the rest of the season, then it's enough for me.

    Man . . .

If LeBron delivers LA a title this season, he goes down as a Laker legend in my book. The emotions would be off the charts and we know Kobe's influence would be the driving force. Bring it home, LBJ.

Apparently AD also got one... on the opposite leg in the same spot. So cute!
