All the talk about the genius of Danny Ainge and how the C Bags were positioned for a championship for years. Everything was going right for them. They are about to put together a team that will be a 4 seed for years to come.

I'm loving all of this but I'm holding my breath...KG also said he isn't interested in being dealt to the C Bags and that still happened and Boston was able to "convince" him after they got Ray Allen.

But something tells me they aren't going to be trading Tatum/Brown to convince AD to stay...very different situation now.

I just want to see Boston twitter go up in flames when AD and Kyrie join the Lakers...and then Woj will have to report it..oh man. please happen!

They didn’t convince Kyrie, reportedly at least.

I thought this was the funniest line to me (my bolded part) in the whole article:

    Yes, haha, it was

Oh crap! I didn’t know Klay tore his ACL!!!

Super bummed for him. He is set to have a big payday and now GS has two guys with serious injuries. Ugh.

And 2 guys they were maybe preparing to bite the bullet and offer max money to, to keep the gang together heading into the new arena. Maybe you do and eat the year of rehab on your team's time for one of them but how much more crazy to do for 2 at the same time. Boom goes the dynamite?

Well there you go. Certainly not asking "What would Danny and the C-bags do?" are they?

$350 in payroll and luxury taxes? That's ludicrous. $241 million dollars over the cap if both players accept and the team will be lucky to make the playoffs next year.

Best team money can buy the year after that maybe.

Klay was rumored to be in Space Jam 2, so I wonder how the injury impacts that opportunity, cause I'm sure some chemistry building between Bron & Klay would have occurred had Klay chosen us in free agency.

Just a brutal injury. And I hate to sound preachy, but hamstring injury in the same leg in Game 2 that held him out in Game 3. Compound injuries happen all the time so if you look at what happened with KD and now Klay, the blame game is going to be interesting this summer.

Meanwhile Kawhi made his own timetable and didn't have anyone rush him back. I hope Klay gets back to being himself and since he's a shooter, I only see the ACL residually impacting his world-level defense. It's a shame.

That being said, I would still max out Klay as a contingency if Lacob tries to get cute. But with the uncertainty of KD & Klay, and Ky looking Nets bound with some other free agent linking up with him, it comes down to Kawhi, Kemba (who is supermax eligible) or Butler as the only tier 1 guys left, with only Kawhi being the only superstar left.

    Just brutal all around.

It's going to be interesting in how we proceed in going about doing business with AD. If we're still holding out our cap space and slow playing the trade, it's likely we have a commitment. If we move all in asap and sacrifice some of that cap flexibility, then maybe the targets we likely had a chance with had a change of heart.

We might just have to look hard at second tier free agents with all the top tier ones looking elsewhere or injured.

Yes all that BUT when you watched the injury it could have happened to him with all the rest in the world and a bastardized shorter season and/or playoff schedule. Took off on one foot, contact in the air and came down the wrong angle on one leg straight from that elevation and hyper extended the knee. S*** happens.

Of course they will. It's LA and it's a lot of $$.

We've all known Klay to LA was a long shot, but if the dubs drop the max on him, dude for sure is staying according to his pops.

s*** happens but landing on an unstrained and fully functional hamstring would strengthen or weaken the articulation of your knee?

I get that not everybody is 100% at this stage in the season, but Klay's injury was significant enough to white flag a Finals game... You can't tell me there wasn't pressure in having him rush back from his injury.

I did not say they will sign with us. But they will look at the possibility, for sure. :)

Heay, but! Now we have Bron on the roster. On the other hand, we have the Rambii. I almot pity the free agents we target in the off season.
