    We have to adjust for inflation. Plus social media and just general media sensationalism has made athletes into larger than life celebrity personalities, increasing their net worth.

    I actually think about what would have happened if Kobe was drafted in 2012. How would the media portray him? What would have happened if Instagram was around when he scored 81. On the flipside though, I think the sexual assault case may have harmed his career a lot more.
