You know, I'm not sure I've ever seen most of the NBA fan base turn on a player like they have LeBron after he signed here. Before, he was an unstoppable force that only a superteam led by cupcake Durant could stop and considered the GOAT by many. Now, I'm seeing people saying he won't even make the playoffs this year and the likes of OKC and Minnesota will make him look stupid, they'll show him it ain't the east anymore. It's downright comical what happens when a player puts on that purple and gold.

Bring it on, fools...and long live The King.

Exactly. My college coach could recall most of a game afterwards while making insites along the way. Usually in a "we lost the game in the 3rd quarter when this happened which led to this and then this etc." kinda way. It's part of being good at your craft and made easier when you realize that their sport is all they have to worry about. It also comes with watching a lot of tape and scouting other teams. In college I could remember most of the core offensive sets of the teams in our conferences and the tendencies of most of their best players, especially the ones I had to guard or represent in practice. It's just came with watching a ton of tape and developing those skills.

YES!!! I've noticed the same thing. People just HATE the thought of us being on top again.

It's possible you guys venture too deep into the bowels of random internet creepery and mistake that for the population at large. The jerks currently stewing on Clippers message boards don't matter. My sense is that most people are fine with this. And most of the professional sports commentators, bloggers and podcasters I see, read, and listen to are saying that the Lakers can make a deep playoff run (although everyone seems to agree GS and HOU are still superior teams). And the consensus seems to be that LeBron is still the best player in basketball. When Dan "Comic Sans" Gilbert has nice things to say, I think you can presume the general vibe is positive. Some people will always hate the Lakers and will always have a reason to hate LeBron. But I don't think this move churned up a particularly potent batch of negativity.

At this point having seen what the Lakers are doing in terms of personnel they are surrounding Bron with it sure seems like Bad Boys 2.0. Its a lot of savvy vets with attitudes, known for their d, smarts, and physical play. They are all long and athletic and then they have added some shooters via draft. Its like Magic and Rob understand that GSW and Houston have the talent, but perhaps not the heart and physicality. Should make for an interesting year and I am curious to see what direction they go if it works out better than expected.

I'm really not worried about Houston at all. Maybe I'm just a homer, but the only team that I'd be concerned with is GS. People keep saying we need more shooters, but as others have stated I don't think you're going to be seeing the same LeBron James driven offense that we've seen in his time with Cleveland.

Memory? I'm not 100% what I even wore yesterday. Dang.

It also must be challenging for a guy with such a big ego that typically knows he's smarter than his coach by a LONG ways. It will be interesting to see if they connect on a basketball level, because we hear good things about Luke. I don't think most of our players understand how smart he is.

Shoot, in order to stay in the league that long while being completely unathletic and over-matched every game, you have to be pretty dang smart.

Yesterday? If I don't look down, I couldn't tell you what I'm wearing right now.

    *looks down*

Damn. I need to put on some clothes.

I agree. That's what I think LeBron gets you. The chance to beat a team that, on paper, may look better and may win more regular season games. But GS still seems impossible right now.

Houston is a toss up to me in two ways. First they have to stay healthy and stable. That's a big question mark to me. The other issue which I don't hear/see being discussed is what BI, LB, Kuz and the like will do with Bron. There is a legit chance that they can blossom under the stability and pressure release that Bron provides. I honestly think it's gonna be very good for Ball.

I also think Houston is going to very much miss Trevor Ariza. He was big for them.

I don't think Ariza was that important. But I'm convinced Houston just isn't as good as they played last year.

There is a difference between a great team or a good team on a hot streak. Houston is more the latter to me. I wouldn't be afraid of them. They overachieved last year, so be it. It won't repeat. Just like the Blazers won't be as good next year. Neither does Toronto.

It just it worse for Houston that they don’t have someone to throw on guys like KD or Lebron to try and slow them down. They’re down to PJ Tucker who’s a more physical type. Are they gonna expect Harden to chase around the other teams best player? I don’t think so.

We now have Stephenson, BI, Rondo, Hart, Zo, and even Lebron who are pretty above average in terms of defense. Wagner can provide IQ and hustle, McGee provides length and athleticism. I think we’re gonna prove a lot of people wrong next year with the moves we made.

I think Houston will once again compile a strong regular season record - top 3 in the league IMO. However, they aren't built to win it all. It's a Mike Antoni team with Haren as their leader. They lost the one guy who actually has a ring and plays clutch defense in Ariza. I do think it hurts their chances to get over in the playoffs. But we can agree to disagree. Chris Paul will most likely get injured again as usual anyway. They will be a tough out but I don't see them ever getting a chip unless GS has massive injuries themselves. Just not good enough. I like our chances against them.
