It says, "LeBron won't commit, and he's head for Los Angeles."

See this is how LeBron can just wreck a franchise. Valuable young talent gone, all that money spent and then he gives up and wants to move to the next better roster looking team after 2 or 3 years and holds the current franchise hostage. Cleveland can't even sign a GM right now because they are doomed for the immediate future when LeQuit leaves. More about why I so don't like the guy.

But I think we have a great FO with powerful people in it, like a Pat Riley in Miami that won't get bent over.

I agree with you, but at the same time I'm also going to put a ton of blame on the franchise. Riley didn't get pushed around by LeBron and I think that's part of why he left. Well at this stage in LeBron's career, if he starts over in a new city, he's not going to get that power. The Lakers will have their young guys and they're keeping them whether LeBron likes it or not. Ball, Ingram, and Zubac are staying as long as they continue to look like cornerstones. The Randles and Clarksons may end up gone. The Harts, Kuzmas, and Bryants may end up gone, but we aren't giving up our future for today. I think we proved that with Indiana.

Yes, I had added a little more to the thought already that agrees about our FO being strong like Riles the Dictator.

Pau George is staying as well along with Ingram, Ball and Zubac and whoever else. If LeBron coming is inevitable .... then if it's LBJ's fault he's gone after 2 or 3 years I think PG inevitably stays as well.

I would sign LLLLLebron to the longest contract possible, and trade him at the deadline for the best deal possible to a bottom dwelling franchise that had attractive assets.

Because it would make me happy, that's why.

There's 0% chance LeBron signs anywhere ever again without a full no trade clause (which he currently has and has had since the Miami days, if memory serves). Nice sentiment, though.

Haven't kept up with this thread as much, so someone might have said this, but...

I know you should only worry about your own team, but I do have some reticence about LeBron coming here for 2 reasons: 1) It doesn't guarantee us the ability to beat GS as they are currently constructed. 2) With the Hayward signing, removing LeBron from the East, you are pretty much turning Boston into LeBron. You are all but guaranteeing they make the Finals year after year.

    Hard Pass on #2.

EDIT: LBJ would also NEVER sign anything but a 1+1.

Ok, then I would settle with Lebron flying to LA trying to work a deal, telling us he's interested, us releasing that to the world, and then us choosing to go "another direction."

I was wrong. You are 100% correct on this. He still has the LEBRON -NTC (as in, you would be a moron to ever trade him if you had him under any circumstances), but I digress.

He's playing some risky stuff with Cleveland right now. No "no trade clause" and won't help recruit FA's, and won't commit to stay.

I trade him if I'm Dan Gilbert to Boston for all their picks and some rotation players/salary.

If he loses him twice for nothing, he entered idiot territory.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

    And

If you can't beat an improving Gokden State this year, then do what's best for your franchise's future. Trade him. He isn't staying Dan.

***and I don't care which way he chooses, as either way he loses***
