Jazzy is joining the good side!

That's what I'm talking about. There's at least some smoke to this fire. Some people have been floating Los Angeles for LeBron as early as last year after they'd won the title. Back then it seemed like a) they must have meant the Clippers and b) impossible for them to mean the Lakers because we were awful and a trainwreck from top to bottom.

Well now it's becoming clear we're on a better path (Laker fans would love to say "the right path"). I don't think this is as much an impossibility anymore. Far fetched? Absolutely... but so was LeBron going back to Cleveland...

    I wouldn't say no chance.

And in two years it's hard to say what the landscape of the NBA looks like. If the Lakers youngsters look as good as they should and we're able to also sign George, I think anything is possible.

But it's a looooooooooooooong way to get there.

Ugh. I could see it possibly happening if the circumstances allowed. However, I would much rather sign Paul George next summer and get a much younger NBA All Star who is hungry and approaching his prime instead of exiting it.

I can't stand Lebronze and I have to say I don't see him taking this team to a championship during his twilight years. He's getting too old and the kids are too young. It's not a good match. GS is going to be at the top of the heap for the next few years at least barring injury. We won't be challenging for a while. I'd rather have a fun young team that I have no issues rooting for and watch them develop together. I could see PG fitting right into that.

I argued with my brother for years before 2014 telling him that I believed Lebron would end up back in Cleveland, I always felt he would jump ship once Wade and Bosh aged. It's hard for me to imagine him leaving them again since he's the hometown boy. I honestly could just see him retiring and coming back after they've had a chance to tank and reload again.

Those two things aren't really mutually exclusive. The young players in fact have to grow and improve or we're not getting Paul George let alone LeBron James.

The 2018 season is vital to our future success for this #2 pick to work out and for all our young kids to take the next step.

^^ I guess it's true, realdeal. There could be a way Lebronze and George possibly are both signed. I'd be more down with that than just Lebronze and the kids.

Lebron will be 33 years old at the start of the 2018-2019 season. Do we really want to sign him until he's 38?

Lebron's postup game still stinks. His jumper is still better than it was when he was younger, but he's no Ray Allen/Reggie Miller who can rely on it when his legs give out.

The only good thing about him is that he'll sell tickets to casual fans.

This also will never happen because CLE and their fans would riot even harder if he left again. He's ending his career in CLE and I will bet anyone who says other wise ;)

We'd sign him at 33 and his contract would expire at 37 years old. He'd likely be the max for four years, but also keep in mind four years from 2019 is 2023. In 2023, our young guys will be in the primes of their careers. They'll all be 27-29 years old. Perfect time for LeBron to fade out while he collects one more ring and our young guys to step into the spotlight.

I wouldn't say the only thing he brings is sales. He'd bring pedigree, professionalism, and a game that's decently suited to what Luke Walton does offensively. His ability to run and pass the ball are essential.

I don't think his age is that big of a deal in his "special" case. As long as he takes periodic visits to the lab in South Beach and stocks up on Super Soldier Serum he will remain at least semi-super human as he approaches 40. I don't want him for more personal visceral reasons.

Doesn't matter if he stays east or comes west...GSW will always be in his way. If he comes west and beats them from here the east is a cake walk

Like he would give a flying **** if they rioted??? C'mon it's LeBron.

..... and his Lakers "defenders" if he comes.

edit- I changed the wording here because I'm sure it's not what you intended. That term is a derogatory racial slur. PM if you have any questions.

No. Please god no. If this happened I would have legit hate for the team of my youth. I can't sell my soul to possibly win a title, I can't root for this man and for his legacy to look better, only for it to look worse and worse. I'd rather not win a title for another 5-10 years than win one with LeBron. The very thought makes me sick.

I think shallow people are ones who wouldn't root for their team to get a championship because someone they despised help win it.

Heck I hope the Lakers win multiple rings with DAR on the team!!

    Lakers first baby!
