won't wade into it other than to say that you pick your parameters fairly arbitrarily, and that defines the argument.

if it's say, 8-year peak, magic and bird have an argument against lebron, imo (i'd still take lebron over either, even though i love magic the player irrationally). but if it's taking full career into account, it's not close.

I have to disagree about Bird and Magic

They both made everyone around them better by getting them involved in the game

Are you old enough to have seen them in person?

At that time in the NBA there was a lull and Bird and Magic brought energy to entire NBA

bird and magic did better in terms of letting more talented players shine alongside them, whereas lebron did better in terms of elevating sub-par players around him. i'd agree that lebron's game made it harder for stars to work next to him, and this continues all the way through the lebron/AD era--we could have been going to AD as a primary option the whole time, with lebron picking his spots. but we didn't. no way lebron's game/personality had nothing to do with that, and i think magic would have just fed his co-star.

all that said, lebron has more talent and equal hoop iq to either bird or magic.

    why am i doing this? i said i wouldn't.

Lebron is just a way way better defender than both Magic and Bird. Even if you think Magic (my fav player of all time) or Bird was equivalent to Lebron offensively you just can't just ignore the other side of the court. Lebron for most of his career was a ludicrously gifted defender who could guard 1-5. Neither Bird nor Magic would ever be asked to stop a prime Derrick Rose for example. No matter how you slice defense (1v1, off ball defense, transition) Lebron was an elite defender

Nope, he’s sick. He always has an excuse ready, that’s what makes him one of the best to ever do it

He had a bad game but I don't think this it - he had only 4th most FGA of any Laker this game (AD, AR, and Rui all put up more shots).
He also was the one to swing the ball to AR for that wide open 3 that would have tied the game!

Agree... We can still rely on him in crucial stretches but James has to pick his time. Conserve himself as it is a long season.

He made a triple double while sick and credited naps. Now he has a stinker game and claims sickness.

Ooh, but look at this. Tell him wassup coach.
