i don't want him to go.... ever.... all my life i watched kobe, it'll be a hard transition, i don't think if i can take it.
As BadCoaching said above, today's message in the media from Kobe suggests he is not going anywhere anytime soon. I think the Lakers (and Kobe) are working on a way to outfox the NBA's Salary Cap and CBA rules. Watch everyone cry foul when the Lakers get the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NBA draft.
Part of me wondered if that was Malone's subtle way of telling Kobe to keep his eyes on his priorities and value what he has. Then again, the Kobe and Vanessa separation happened and then was called off. Who knows with these NBA guys, right? That is a topic for another column and not relevant other than Kobe being a competitive Mamba who never forgets - look at how much he still hates the Suns (even after we got Nash), look at how much now hates Clips!
If Kobe was smart, he'd go for Malone. I know it's premature, but LeBron could end up making a run for it too. If Kobe gets to #2, then it means the worst LeBron could do is knock him down to the top 3. Again, I know this is premature, but it'd be a nice insurance policy.
Agree. Kobe isn't just worried about legacy measured against MJ but also Lebron and putting something out of reach.
