Surprisingly I had never seen this before. I remember the Kobe and Keyshawn Johnson SportsCenter Commercial but not this one.

That messes with my theory of playing a few more years. Do not like.

The more I think about it, the more I love that ending for Kobe. A smaller role, a world-wide stage, not needing to carry the team...

That's the perfect ending for him.

He'd have one more Olympic Gold than Michael. :ShaqOh:

I believe @therealdeal is talking about Team USA, in which case he averaged 8.75 shots per game and it'd be even less this time around. Closer to 5.

Yeah I thought that was more obvious. Of course Kobe isn't playing a small role on the Lakers

If this is true & Kobe is already talking about riding off into the sunset, his body must not be able to take the preparation that he knows he needs to perform at the level he wants to. Truly sad stuff if true. The absolute last of his kind, doubt we'll ever be lucky enough to see someone like him again.

Likely not in our life time.

I will move heaven and earth to be there the very last game of the season at home vs. Utah to witness Kobe leaving the Staples Center floor for the last time as a player.

I wonder which member of the Jazz he'll push off of to hit the game winning jumper.

Players don't push off... They merely "disengage" from the defender. ;)

I dig how 24 said he wants to earn the spot on the Olympic and not be handed it. I think he'll be a lock. Also 24 wants to be there to see his BC[as in Compadre]F Gasol win the silver again.

Makes me think of when Kobe ran Gasol over during the 2008 Olympics even though they were teammates at this time in LA.

Kobe doesn't care, just wants to win.

^24 did that after the media beating that Gasol took for being manhandled in the 2008 Finals. Either he wanted to toughen him up or to show that he is not soft.

I took it as a message to Pau that their teammate history on Lakers meant nothing in this game .... he was the enemy. But ^^^ that's possible too as a reason he did it or in addition to.
