That bottom photo! It always surprises me when what is usually left out of comments comparing Mike with Kobe about the main advantages Jordan had were the size of his hands and superior athleticism …. is the acknowledgement of and tip of the cap to Kobe’s own next level athleticism.

I always liked Cuban. And his comments back then talking about the NBA and how one thing or trade or sprained ankle can change everything still “rings” true and too often is blown off. Why the ring is the ONLY thing has always seemed nonsense to me if you are a fan of the game your team plays, and is good enough to at least have a shot at winning a ring.

Whatever. He had HD Net up and running when there was no HD programming to be had, and he's always run their franchise pretty first class, (well asside from the sexual harrasment scandal a few years back which sounded pretty bad) .... just not in the best market. Why specifically do you hate him?

as a long time mavs follower, cuban's a double-edged sword. he's DEFINITELY responsible for the mavs going from laughing stock to respected franchise (they were the kings before he got there). but he also had a hand in many of the club's worst decisions because he didn't play his role (owner not gm). for example, donnie nelson wanted to draft giannis at #13, and cuban wanted the <1m extra cap space to offer dwight (who was never coming). that's just all sorts of catastrophic on all sorts of levels.

and his public persona is sort of not very likeable; i get that.

i do like what he's doing with his new big venture, but that's not basketball-related.

in short, my big fear is that ballmer is all the best parts of cuban and none of the worst (in terms of basketball operations), and he bought our cross-town rivals.

anyway, this is the kobe thread, and kobe and dirk together would have been absolutely unstoppable. they'd have loved playing together and won A LOT--partially because both were iron men of sorts, and mostly because both guys put winning above everything.

Don't whatever me, dude. He's a chode. And just because someone is a chode doesn't mean I hate them. It just means they are a chode.

Maybe some people don't know what a chode is?? Means he is just a d***. Not a real cool guy. Not someone you would want to drink a beer with.

FAT d*** at that. ;) As said earlier, “whatever”. Still no reasons stated when I asked out of curiosity but I don’t know him well nor care that much in the first place.
