Coolest thing Russell did for a Laker. Non-Laker? Flipping off Barkley on live TV.

I remember Caspi acting like a b**** that whole game and then sulking off the court after the shot. Thanks for another gem of a memory, Kobe.

Joel Myers: "He is hard to believe!"

    Stu: "No he's not"

Stu was such a prick to Joel, hahahaha.

Was about to post about it .. Kobe appeared in several segments .. Parker always had a huge respect for him .

The credits at the end of the documentary start with " in the memory of Kobe Bryant" ...

Man I remember this game so well. At THAT time, well before today’s game where every other shot is a three, this number of threes was ridiculous. And Kobe didn’t even shoot that many at that time, if I remember right he just did it because someone talked trash

Crazy how the game has changed. That was an absurd number of threes by a star that got hot.

now it’s just another game for players

I can't believe we are coming up on 1 year already since Kobe passed. I feel like this happened just yesterday and it still shocks me when I think about it. He was so big and too great but he is human and I can take comfort in knowing he's in our creator's hands

I still remember what I was doing that day... Went on a road trip on the way to meet some family members. I was driving so I had my phone in the GPS mount and when I received the notification that TMZ said Kobe was on a helicopter that crashed, I just froze and had to emergency park my vehicle out of the lane. I've never cried for anyone including close family member's dying but this was difficult to take in. I ended up meeting my family members but since a few of us were Lakers fans, it was difficult to digest the news - especially when we all found out Gianna was also in the helicopter. Initially, it was reported that it was just Kobe and none of his family were involved so we felt a sigh of relief knowing his family was safe. Last year, it was grief. This year, it's a celebration. I'm going to appreciate Kobe's life not even as a basketball player but as someone who I watched growing up being inspired by.

he led a full life and left behind an impact most in history wish they could have left. He impacted millions of people positively.

and he did it in an abbreviated time frame

    #blessed

The loss is ours for sure.

You know, as we approach the anniversary of that horrible day, I just keep thinking to myself about Kobe (something all too common in my mind during this whole year), and I'm always like, damn... it's not only that I lost my basketball idol, but I was so genuinely interested in his post-career, and the little we got was actually fun to follow (certainly more fun than the Lakers we had those years).

And then, I went back to doing stupid things to myself like looking for Kobe on twitter and such, and that got me thinking... is there actually a more quoted player in NBA history? Honestly, the amount of quotes from Kobe is absurd. And I can understand it... one of the things that made him the figure he was, was the fact that listening to him was interesting, something that can't be said about many stars in the NBA. And I'm not talking just about basketball, he was just so interesting to listen. He lived for just 41 years, but left us an incredible amount of "highlights" of him just talking.

And then I'm back to being sad thinking how much I would've loved to grow older and listen to a wrinkled Kobe Bryant, maybe with a white beard, talking about life, showing an 80-year old Mamba Mentality... how much more he could've said... I miss this.

He was definitely so much more than basketball.

We went through a crazy covid year, but when I think of tragedies in 2020, I can't help but think of the Kobe accident first.

I was incredibly lucky for being able to follow the complete career and post-career of Kobe Bryant, and it will always be one of the biggest joys in my life.
