Regarding his minutes, I have no idea what is going on in Byron's head. Kobe is clearly exhausted. He has no business playing those extra minutes, especially during blowouts. He's playing less minutes than in 2012 or 2013, but I'd rather have Kobe play a consistent 35 mpg (preferably less than that) than "Oh, we don't have a game in a few days so lets play Kobe 40 minutes today."

Or one of those 12-minute quarters. How about you just play Kobe 8 minutes per quarter, give or take a minute? Is that so hard?

^I had the same exact thoughts about a week ago. It seems the only coach who had the ba**s to do anything was Phil when Bryant averaged 33 minutes a game a couple of seasons ago.

At this point Kobe needs to be saved from himself regarding the minutes played or how he's used. He will play 48 mins if you let him, so don't let him.

What's the worst that happens if you get him mad at you if you're Byron? He pouts? He goes out there and doesn't take any shots to prove a point? Lol, yeah right, Kobe is clearly chasing people on the all-time scoring list right now, because we suck, so why not. He's not going to that.

Byron also isn't getting fired, just not happening, would be a horrible look for us, so he doesn't have to fear that in upsetting Kobe either. So do the smart thing, do the right thing, man up and save Kobe from himself.

All that goes for his teammates who look intimated by him and are giving him the ball every single time he asks for it, what's the worst that can happen if you don't. He makes your life hell in practice? So what? He takes even more shots than he is now? Ha ha, right, his arm would fall off.

Some of these guys we have now have the potential to be here longer than Kobe will at this point, so get over it that he's Kobe Bryant and run good plays. One thing I see from Boozer that I do like, is this, he will ignore Kobe and take his own shot. And Kobe sure doesn't seem to care, other guys could learn from this.

Kobe is probably doing non stop recovery treatment and taking MRIs after every game. You guys have your opinions and I have mine, I believe hes just fine. Let him earn the 24 million as well. IF its not meant to be and he gets hurt again, I guess its his time to hang them up. My money is still on Kobe, bringing it, every effing night. Yall go ahead and waste your time getting mad/frustrated over his minutes 7 games into a season.

Do you even know what an MRI is? You don't just get them after every game.

Yes I know what an MRI is. I need one bad lol, was having sciatica for a couple months in both legs and which is now cramping/sciatica in mostly my left leg. I dont know if its a hamstring issue or my piriformis muscle but its been 6 months and I still cant run, feeling symptoms. Back on subject, I didnt look into how often you can have them thats why I made that type of statement lol. Ill stand by everything else I said.

Think about it, if the Lakers and Kobe himself arent concerned, knowing the money the Lakers theyre paying him and STILL owe him.. why should you? Just dont think yall should be getting caught up in so much because yall think you know whats best for him. Thats all. Lets not get it twisted, I RESPECT, where yall are coming from though.

Did you say this before his achilles injury? What about (a professional's) Dr. Klapper's comments about his minutes?

Kobe is a beast. His longevity and ability to stay on court is not based on luck or some sheer accident. It's hard work and preparation, but the human body has its limitations. Lets not have history repeat itself.

My patience with Byron is already wearing thin. I supported hiring him for two reasons:

    1. He said he knew how to coach D.

    2. He said he would not let Kobe run himself into the ground by limiting his minutes.

    So far he is 0-2.

TIME, one of the main reasons I was ok with Byron, was that I felt they had the kind of relationship where Byron could reign Kobe in and keep him from overdoing it. So far I'm not sold.

We're down our sixth man and our two best players from last year. I wasn't expecting wins, but I was expecting progress. Has that happened?

I felt that way about Magic. I've loved watching Kobe and what he brings every night. But he used to be able to shoot 25 times and carry the team. He can't anymore and it's looking ugly. I'm tired of losing, not running plays, and not making adjustments. It's taken the undying Kobe support out of me.

I would because they were my team before Kobe got here and they'll be my team when he'd retired. I love Kobe but not more than the Lakers.

Yeah but I didn't mean it quite so literally. I know we all care that Kobe's ballin again when everyone said he was done. I'm just tired of watching him shoot damn near 30 times a game when it's not falling enough to justify that. He used to be able to shoot that much and light the building on fire. Not for some time now. I'm done venting for now. I don't wanna wear out my welcome on this forum. I appreciate what you guys do.

Well what's the solution though? There's literally no one else on the team I want shooting more. Boozer maybe. Lin maybe. Other than that there's no other scorers here. Heck there's no other shooters here now that Ellington is away with his family issues.

I'm only concerned about his minutes played. Other than that, I don't give two hoots what he does.

I guess I wanna see an effort to get other guys shots. I wanna know that we're capable of developing a system that doesn't depend on handing the ball to one dude all the time. Not confident that we are.

I'm sorry; I thought you were seriously asking. I can understand that there are many fans who watch only for Ws - and I respect that. I'm a Kobe fan first (But I've been a Lakers fan since before he came here; I just think he's bigger than the Lakers; it's a minority view on Lakers forums, and that's fine by me.), but I hope you don't feel like anyone is forcing you to censor yourself here. You should feel free to vent; no one likes a 1-7 start. It's disgusting. And Kobe <40% isn't fun either, but I don't think it's "the" problem with this team. He should be a bit more selective; he could probably shoot 4-5 times fewer per game, hand out another 1-2 assists, and this team might be better off. Would we be better than 1-7? I don't think so.

Not at all bro. It's all good. I Just didn't wanna be one of those guys. I guess it's time to embrace the horror and ride Kobe till the wheels fall off!
