There were times when he jogged past half court. 24 was breathing hard on the bench. Did not surprise me that he fought through it.
Am I crazy to think this is right up there with Kobe's best performances ever? Outside of the obvious 81 point and 62 point games in 2006 at least in the regular season this is right up there for me. It's one thing to do it in your prime that's to be expected of a guy like Kobe, but to do on your absolute last legs, after such a struggle for much of the year, with the injuries and mileage I mean just incredible.
I can't sleep. I'm so hyped from that game. It's like game 7 vs Boston in 2010. I was sad all day. Now I couldn't be happier. What a way to go out. Black Fn Mamba! Their will never be another Kobe.
This was too perfect of an ending. Ownership has some work to do. I feel bad for saying this but I can honestly see myself losing interest in basketball permanently after this performance. Regardless, I will never be able to follow an athlete's career as enthusiastically as Kobe's. D-Lo or some other youngin can break all of Kobe's records and I'll still be preaching to my grandkids about how Kobe was the greatest to ever play.
Just imagine, if Kobe was actually a 17 year old joining us this off-season, and beginning his 20 year career. Oh man... I wouldn't miss a game. Sucks i only started watching in 2011
I was so happy to see him go out how he played his entire career. It reminded me of the many games he's legendary for, willing his team to a win when they couldn't do it. 37 years old, 60 points, and keep in mind he almost shot 50% for 60 points, like WOW. 37 years old people. This is the Kobe people are going to miss. I knew he had it in him. I truly think he ignored his body this final game to give the fans a show. But it would have been amazing seeing games like these consistently that probably could've gotten the team a playoff spot if he wasn't injured and so banged up.
im still so hyped too...been trying to relax with no luck. i really thought i would be sad right now (and i probably will be soon) but im just so happy. this ending was the closure i and many others needed
... i forgot to go to work. Don't think i'll make it at all today If someone finds a good download link (for the entire thing in HD), a PM would be appreciated.
On that pre-game video tribute...I thought that Carmelo Anthony had to catch himself while sharing his thoughts. Showed how much 24 meant to him. You can hear the applause loudly for Gasol and Odom during their parts.
One more thing. A HUGE thank You to all LB staff. Thank You for creating this great place and for the opportunity to share this special moments together. The site haven't crashed once (if CL was still up, no way one could log in tonight). Great job guys, keep it up please .
See, Kenzo, I KNEW I wouldn't be able to go to work today, not today. I used one of my holidays, because this is the holiest of days.
Did not miss dinner... Ate while the game was on during the first quarter. Now it is past 1 AM, still wired and having the major munchies.
This was Barns' baby, and I know @thkthebest had a big hand in it from the beginning. The staff has enjoyed this place like everyone else, and we've hardly had to do any actual "moderating", it's been a joy. I just know those 2, if memory serves, and forgive me if I'm leaving anyone out here, are the ones that deserve the most credit. But yes, much thanks to @Barnstable for conceiving of and creating this place, he could feel CL was on its last legs, and didn't want this community to be lost if it went down. He got this place up just in time, because CL did go down, yet the community survived.
What a great way for Kobe to go out . I didn't expect him to make so many shots . Great for the fans to have such a night like this at Staples again too . MAMBA OUT LEGEND IN FOREVER
