I liked that Kobe was super encouraging after Russ' miss at the end. Great leadership, instills confidence in the kid.
Seriously, seems like he was doing most of the actual coaching at the end. His actual play, thought it continued to be better too. He was making shots, but also not taking a ton, 9 at the half. Yeah he took some bad ones, but I'll live with that. He also missed some good ones when his legs started to leave or he tightened up, whatever happened.
Part of me wonders whether Kobe had a little inspiration looking across the bench at the way KG has mentored the Wolves' young players. Either way his encouragement of the young kids tonight was a great sight to see.
I want to believe Kobe intentionally got "tight" and that he felt it was time for the kids to have their time.
This came out of nowhere. Hard to believe it's Kobe's idea or B0ron's when it happens a couple days after Mitch's interview.
I'm so confused right now, I don't get where this is coming from. I can see Mitch talking to B0ron and making him change things, but not Kobe too. So is Kobe just saying this stuff, is he really getting worn out and wants to play less, what the hell is going on?
If the kobe clown show is over, big credit to mamba for giving up the reigns this early. We'll see. Oh, good on Byron for letting the rookies play tonight.
Tonight was wonderful to see from Kobe. Way to encourage the young guys, taking Russell under his wing. So cool. Also telling Byron leave them in there. This is good stuff. Much better.
Well for what it's worth Kobe has attempted only six three's combined the last two games. Let's hope that trend continues.
Wait what ..... he did that ^^^ told Byron to leave them in? I watched very late on time shift and dozed portions. But I had wondered aloud yesterday why Kobe wasn't going to Byron and saying WTF are you doing dropping Randle and Russell to 2nd string and cutting their minutes. If he really had their backs. He ought to just for putting up with his "vanity project". OK further on reading I see that Boron said Kobe told him to leave them in. Yeah you think, dip s***? :Headpoint:
So much for Kobe being selfish and not caring about being a detriment to the team. You gotta love how fast the mood swings here
Pretty amazing the difference between Kobe on the court and Kobe on the bench. Kobe's ego on the court totally overrides all the greatness that he has to offer these young kids.
I think this whole thing is a process for Kobe. Day by day he is getting a bit more comfortable in loosening the reigns, accepting his current physical state, and embracing a role as a mentor to the young guys. If he can keep this up, then I'll be happy.
I agree, Kobe was great on so many different facets last night. Never imagined this day would come and I'm so proud of him. This could be the miracle turnaround that we all hoped for. This season is far from over.
