The solution isn't to keep shooting Kobe...

It was a perfectly reasonable stance to say that Kobe has earned the right to go out on his own terms. But those taking that stance were under the impression that Kobe wasn't going to go totally f---ing insane. He has lost his mind and is showing he doesn't care about the Lakers or the fans because anyone with half a basketball brain knows this is putrid and a slap in the face to people who rooted for him. Disgraceful. Kobe needs to retire NOW. Not at the end of the season. He is insulting the entire LA fan base and giving them the middle finger on his way out the door.

    17 threes...SEVENTEEN.

If Steph Curry hasn't put up 17 threes in a game, I think it's safe to say nobody else should be doing it either.

    Very, very hard to watch.

Yeah with your last sentence but LOL Byron f****** Scott is the coach .....not happening. Effing disgusting what's going on. Kobe's really disappointing with his abandonment of all basketball sense and team play (save for the nice pass here and there). Darkest of black holes and won't stop shooting 20 3s a game. :PauExplode:

No, it wasn't bail out or poor offense. He shot them because he felt like it. From the second the game started he started jacking them up, and at first 3 of 4 went in, so he kept on shooting. He wasn't shooting within the offense, he wasn't shooting because he was open, he was just shooting to shoot. It was funny at first, and then it was kinda silly, and then it became disgusting. I feel sorry for his teammates, it must be awful to play next to selfishness like that, a completely "F it" attitude when most of the rest of these guys actually still care.

Im afraid you're right. I don't get what kobe us thinking right now. I'm thankful for the 5 rings. I'm thankful for all those times he played hurt and carried us. But this, why? Right now he us really hurting us and I don't know why he doesn't see it.

Right now what I'm seeing us heartbreaking. What I'm seeing right now is getting close to the sadness of losing to those guys in the finals, the sadness of magic getting hiv, the sadness of damfony ruining kobe in the first place.

I'm just really bummed out right now, almost to the point of being emotional.

Does anybody know? It's a possibility. Philly might be the 'peak' of what happens on the road since Kobe's has such a storied history within the city. We'll see, though. I think we just have to take this 1 game at a time.

You know, that retirement announcement was brilliant PR to distract people/press/whoever from criticizing Kobe and the Lakers. It became the new narrative, instead of how awful the Lakers are (which is actually the most important narrative). I love you Kobe, but you are playing like a buffoon. It doesn't help to have a coach positively reinforcing the buffoonery either.

One possible reason for this is the Lakers are in full tank mode to get the worst record and keep that draft pick...

If i was playing with Kobe right now, i wouldn't cross the half court to make a statement. If he saw, that he's playing 1 on 5 few trips in a row, maybe that would make him think.

Who am i kidding. Dude would go 1 on 5 for the 48mins and probably be proud of himself.

We know they're tanking and decided to make a distracting spectacle out of it

I'm glad there's a group that sees the big picture

    Lakers Ball = pro development

Matter of fact...Kobe probably wants us to get a top 3 pick.

Honestly, considering how crappy this team is and how its going nowhere, the best thing right now is another top 3 pick.

I would have prefered a decent season to show the veteran superstars that the players on this team will be capable in the future. But that is already a pipe dream, so go full tank for Ben Simmons.
