I've got Kobe at number 3 all time behind MJ and Kareem. The top 15 crap is just ludicrous. 25, 5 and 5 per game over a 20 year career, 5 rings - 3 as the 1B, 2 as undisputed best player/leader of the team, the most complete offensive player I've ever seen and I would argue who ever played the game, an absolute killer in the clutch, perhaps the greatest work ethic ever documented in the game, 17 time all star, 4 x NBA All star MVP, 2 x finals MVP, 11 x all NBA first team, 9 X NBA all defense first team, 3rd most points of all time. If you don't have him at least top 10 you just don't know basketball.
I am staring a team and I am taking, in no particular order: Kareem, Duncan, MJ, Kobe. Then Magic, Shaq, Bird, Wilt. Possibly Hakeem. Don't understand who are 14 players better than Kobe, when you look at his body of work. I have a feeling, Thomas and such make an appearance, which is a travesty.
The only way Kobe can salvage this season is to come to terms with who he is now as a player. It almost seems like he has had a mental break, yikes.
Honestly, whether Kobe is playing poorly or not, I think our team is deeply flawed beyond that and it starts at the top with Mr. Byron Scott.
That's 100% true, Bryon remains the biggest problem with team. Selfishly I really wanted to see Kobe play better and smarter in last season even if we are losing. I don't want these horrible games to be my last memory of Kobe.
I can't take this anymore. This isn't NBA basketball. 17 threes? He pulls up and shoots whenever he wants, screw team play I guess. Nothing earns you the right to ignore your teammates' development and just chuck like this. What kind of message is this to send to the rookies and a guy like Clarkson who actually deserves more shots? I don't care if he's on the way out, I'm pissed with Kobe right now.
Byron's decision to hold everyone accountable except the vets (ESPECIALLY Kobe) has resulted in the garbage we are seeing game in and game out.
I got this game spoiled for me so I didn't watch. Why did Kobe shoot 17 threes? Like ... that's insane. Was it bail out shots cuz of poor offensive execution? Or just jacking them up? All I know is as head coach you have to tell the guy at a certain point to stop it.
I read a Jerry West article today in which he mentioned it's painful to see Kobe go out like this. I can understand average numbers or even below average numbers but not like this. He has a green light to do ANYTHING he wants. Not like this, Bean. Please... not like this.
Kobe is and will always be my favorite player, but 17 threes? 17 ?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Really Bean? Sit yo butt down and rest those knees.
