in the second half, i was really frustrated with his touches. you knew he wasn't giving it up, and so did the opposition. i thought he was doing a better job of moving the ball in the preseason.
Kobe just needs to dial back on the three's. He was 5/11 inside the line. If he took six or seven less I don't think any of us would be getting on him. Overall I thought he looked very good considering he hasn't played a real basketball game in nine months and the fact that this is his 20th season. He looked spry, he looked lively, he looked like a guy who can still play at a high level and be effective and efficient.
He needs to watch some of his own tape from preseason. Sure shots weren't falling but he was still moving the ball effectively instead of chucking it or ISO-ing everytime he touches the ball.
Step your freaking "smarts" up Kobe ..... and your game will follow. Disgusted with the same old "Bad Kobe" act from you we have seen all these years when you go into chuck or hero mode for no good reason. Really? Now, when you have to know it's not good for the team? 13 3s with 3 made? And you're my guy!!!!!
Psssst! Kobe, I know you were open and tempted to shoot it.... But do you know why they left you open? Kobe?
http://basketball.realgm.com/analys...e-Of-The-Rest-Of-Kobe-Bryants-Basketball-Life Good read-objective. And also to those who are critisizing (StepenAS-Espn), look at Carmelos shooting after 2 games or some other busts in the first game (A Davis, Harden...)! Kobe is a few months older so we can expect a little more variance...
Kobe looks done. He will have a few good games here and there but it looks like it's time for him to ride into the sunset. It was a great run though.
Kobe can still score at a high level, but he just won't stop chucking three's. It's sad he can still be very good if he wants, but through two games it doesn't look like he will chance his style of play.
I wanted nothing more than Kobe to come out and prove all his critics wrong. But right now I feel like Charlie Brown thinking Lucy isn't going to pull away the football. Kobe is who he is. Stubborn to a fault. Love the guy and he will always be one of my favorite Lakers. But this is it for him in my opinion. I think he can still score but at what cost to the rest of the team.
I still believe he can score 20+ points a game effectively, for whatever reason he thinks he's Curry. I wouldn't mind so many 3's if they came in the flow of whatever offense we are running. Like off a pass from Russell or a dish from the inside, instead he's dribbling dribbling then steps out for a contest 3.
He's in full chuck mode. Gotta be the ego and stubbornness, it must be hard to tame after being the greatest for so long.
Yeah, that's exactly it for me. He can score, but on 24 shots like we saw Wednesday if he chucks threes. He isn't the player that can carry your team and shoot you to victory anymore. So if he is trying to do that, he's probably going to be hurting us, because we don't need him to do that. We need him to be a PART of this offense, and to play smarter.
Exactly. It's worse because Kobe is smart enough to understand all of this but is just too stubborn to change
