^^^^ You need to do a individual sports if you can't accept a lesser role then ... because you're hurting a team and an organization ...

He needed to retire at the end of his previous contract ... instead of keeping playing solely to prove you still got it ..

Jim/Jeanie and Kobe wasted 2 seasons of our rebuild with this ridiculous contract/unwillingness to become a role player

Easier said than done to ask a top five player of all time to become a role player. Kobe was still playing at a superstar level up until the Achilles injury. D'Antoni playing him 45 minutes a game in the final month of the 2013 season. I blame him as much as anyone.

 

Its not that kobe shot much it is that he literaly doesnt pass at all,he catches it,dribbles it 10 times and shoots.
Teammates are out of rhytam,at least pass the ball around and then shoot.
I dont know why kobe is forcing it so much,he should wait for game to come to him,and go with the flow,if he played that way i am sure he could score 24p on 5 less fga,plus it would preserve his energy and maybe prevent another injury.

 

This is Kobe we're talking here guys. He always struggled to find a balance in his game, it's either 10+ assists or 30+ shots . I always thought he will age gracefully. His skills are second to none. His footwork is amazing. His b-ball IQ is off the charts, but his head... is still the one of that 17 year old boy who got drafted by the Hornets .
Love it or hate it, it's what made Kobe.

 

Sure but it's 2015 and not 2008 ... and I hate it in 2015 ...

If we have to accept it now, in detriment of the team development , because he's who he is, there is no point of talking about his future performances if somebody is going to bring his glory past with us as a justification ...

By this logic , we 'll have to love it or hate it for 2-3 more years ... and our team still will be crap

Apparently Kobe shot more shots than any other guy in the league last night.

 

All I ask of Kobe--- Please stop shooting those contested and out-of-rhythm threes!

 

I think finishing the 1st half and starting off the 3rd period with few buckets has made kobe believe that he was on fire and he started firing heat check shots. If we can see more of 1st half kobe and less of 2nd half kobe, we should be ok.

 

i was happy with preseason kobe; looked like he was going to try to be part of things, let the game come to him. last night was anything but that, which was disappointing.

i get the kob's gonna kob posts, but if he plays like last night, he's hurting not just the team, but the franchise (henry abbott creepily rubs his hands together). the young guards can't develop without being part of what's going on offensively. they need to fail like kobe did early, too. so, if we're not going to win games, we can't have the vets eating all the possessions.

 

Kobe had a Kobe game, which is a good and bad thing. He did show that he can still score, but he shot WAY too many 3s.

-Kobe can't continue to shoot 24 shots a game. He is hurting the team more than helping them by taking those many shots.
-Let Russell run the offense, there was way too many times where he took the ball up himself and played PG.
-Isos, Isos, Isos, way too many of those, he can't keep doing that, he isn't prime Kobe anymore.
-It sucks to see that he doesn't want to take a lesser role, it's really disappointing to see that from my favorite player, ever.
-I do like that he gave the ball up to Lou to take the final shot. I was really thinking that he would just iso and brick a jumpshot.

The Kobe we saw last night was pretty disappointing. Hopefully he sees that this isn't your year. He just can't seem to grasp that he can't do the things he used to do. Father time is undefeated, and it will continue to stay that way.

 

He looked fluid and was moving well on offense, at least better than I was expecting.

His shot was another story, a lot of his early misses looked good just didn't go down.

Not thrilled with his shooting rate, but you had to think he was going to come out like this since everyone and their mother has been saying he's done and barely a top 100 player. He didn't succeed in nailing home his point, but it was on his terms.

 

Woot Woot ..... Kobester is back baby. Shotting too much ..... hasn't lost a step..... heat checks and hero ball for the win.

 

Seeing as Kobe shot 3-13 from 3 and 8-24 overall, that does mean his 2 rate was 5-11, for 15 points. He sticks to 2's and he's real efficient, apparently. I think this points to his legs just not being under him just yet. We'll see.

 

Pretty clear that Kobe's not going to change at this point. Our new core needs to save Kobe from himself. Just stop deferring to him. If he's got the best look, get him the ball. He'll be more effective that way anyways and won't have as many opps. to upset the flow of the offense. It's just a shame that Kobe won't do that on his own, he's more than capable of being a real weapon but his ego keeps getting in the way. I love Kobe but nobody owes him anything anymore. This team needs to learn how to win together and he just has to accept that as priority #1.

 

Man Kobe has become the biggest black hole out on the perimeter. Once the ball swings his way it's going up. I don't want him touching the ball outside the 3-point line at this point.
