Love his defense, he always finds himself in the right spots.

    When we go

    Russ
    Baze
    Lebron
    AD
    Dwight

We’re gonna be a big team, going to be a real struggle for teams to match up with our size. Even when we swap Dwight for Monk, we don’t aren’t undersized but have all the benefits of playing small.

Baze is a lock to start at the 3 especially with Ariza out.

There's also still a chance Melo starts at 4 and LeBron is at 3 and LeBron just guards whoever is the tougher matchup at 3/4 so Melo doesn't get worked.

I'm good with either of them starting cuz they're both good fits but I'd rather Baze starts

Size. Ariza can guard 4 positions, Baze can cover us three and might even get bullied against bigger wings. It's why I'd still like to sign Ennis. Bron can handle those matchups, but if he doesn't have to, then don't make him.

He was Abazing tonight! The effort on defense (especially in that great 2nd Q) including 4 steals. The lobs and good chemistry with AD. Couple corner 3s. This man is starting. It's just a matter of who's filling in that 5th starting spot (are we going big or not?)

Baze has really impressed me with his two way play. I would start him no matter what. I’d start him at 2 over Ellington if we go big.

I love this post. To the point and factual. I think Baze has to start at this point as well. I am not convinced yet but Dwight is making a strong case for us starting big. I like effort and that is what we are getting from Baze and Dwight. Effort and unselfishness are what builds chemistry. With those two things it can be built quickly. I'm also going to be using Rondo much more than previously thought. What separates this Site from others, and not just basketball is the knowledge and incite.

The second quarter unit with D12, AD, and Baze played great defensively. Definitely want to see that unit utilized. That's the best D I've seen this roster play so far, even though we haven't seen everyone play.

BUT I don't want Dwight starting for the same reasons I don't want Monk starting. I want that pop off the bench. Russ is the motor to our starting 5, we need that off the bench and get it from those two. A Dwight/Melo/THT/Monk or Nunn/Rondo unit will be able to score in a variety of ways and maintain defensive pressure. Again, I'm not sure how often we'll implement a full 5 bench players and not have at least one of our 3 out there with them, but as a second unit, I think that's my pick.

Plus we need Dwight covering Melo's defensive lapses. That 2nd unit would do some damage.

Yeah, he's a good player and even more importantly - he fits well. Downside: he fouls too much, but at least it means he tries hard on D.

That’s what we all were saying when we signed him. Lots of plusses, but fouls tooo much, and man6 of those are dumb, unnecessary fouls.

    Hope he cleans that up

He will fulfill what we expected from Kuzma last year.

I thought that was Melo? K-9 has to step into the big shoes of KCP and the Eagle on the perimeter.

I feel relatively confident he'll match KCP's production. I mean, he'll probably shoot a little less, get few more steals, but overall he will step into those shoes.

He’s the new kcp, and that’s good.
