And just like that, it's gone. Great finale. Didn't take the obvious route (staying true to form) and didn't go for shock value. Going to take some time to process it before delving into breaking it down. But damn am I going to miss it. I just wish it had gotten the attention and acclaim it deserved. It shouldn't be such a great kept secret, I wish it had caught on with the masses the way another great former FX show like SOA. Maybe Netflix will eventually pick up the series and people will catch on to it then...better after the fact than never.
Just an amazing show and a finale just as great. I'm going to miss this show so much even though I know the replay value is through the roof on this series. I can watch the episodes again and again. Some of the best written TV I've ever seen and I'm afraid it may never get the acclaim it deserves. Hopefully people start to recognize what this show really is after the fact like Arrested Development or The Wire. And so with that.... my favorite show of all time comes to a beautiful end.....
Some of my favorite clips from the show: Tim: “You’re not going to try to go out the window or anything while I’m gone?” Raylan: “No. Not right now, I’m beat. Plus you got your car here, even if I got a jump on you, you’d be right behind me.” Tim: “But you will eventually.” Raylan: “Eventually, yes.” Tim: “Yes, why would you do that?” Raylan: “Well I gotta talk to some people… alone. So either you let me go or I’m gonna have to give you the slip.” Tim: “I love this s***, this s*** makes me hard.” Raylan: “Well then we’ve both been warned.”
Just watched the finale. Soooo good. Every decision was right. Raylan and Art bonding one last time to get the bad guys. "Show them your t*** Art". Boyd throwing TNT. Boyd vs. Markham. Raylan wanting to shoot Boyd. The Boone showdown. Ava driving off. Raylan and his daughter. A new hat. Raylan and Ava. Annnnnd a perfect last scene "we dug coal".
I loved Tim and Raylan's final scene together about whether or not his replacement could be a bigger a****** than Raylan. And Art's reaction to news that Boyd was throwing dynamite. It wasn't that of shock, but like hearing news that the kids drew on the wall or the dog got into the trash again.
One last thought... might be wishful thinking. They left all the main characters alive. Leaves the door open for a future 2 hour reunion movie when Boyd discovers Ava has his son.
