Kid was hitting the J tonight!! He will wreck havoc on defenses if he keeps that J consistant.

As I said in the GameTime chat, really glad Byron let Randle finish the game even though Boozer was awesome tonight. Even if he doesn't admit it I think Randle needed a little confidence boost after Bryon called him out a little last game about not coming in with enough energy.

And I caught laughs when I said this kid will be huge when he develops a j. Anyone see him grab a board and push ball up floor and start the break? Wow. Could he actually be nicknamed randel got handles ? Buck is cheering that one!

Liked that b Scott had a lineup with Kobe and Randle together.

I've been honking from day one that aside (so far) from Randle not having Charles Barkley's straight up vertical in games, considering he is only 19 as a rookie and taller and as strong with as much mass compared to Charles at 21 as a rookie, it's not a huge stretch to make a comparison especially since Julius appears to be quicker and have better handles pushing the ball up the floor already. Worthy mentioned Barkley in that regard tonight talking about Randle in the post game show. If Julius can continue to knock down that J look the hell out this season running with the 2nd string, or with the starters if Boozer gets in foul trouble.

Here's some clips from Barkley's rookie season, again 2 years older and with 3 years experience at Auburn vs Randle's 1 year at Kentucky. Compare to what Julius showed tonight against Utah and after only a few pre-season games. Randle is 250 lbs of hard muscle already, Charles not so "chiseled" at 21.

Yeah, if he starts nailing his jumpers, it's going to open things up out there for him big time. And that "foul" (clean block" on Exum was sweet. Exum went down like he hit a wall, Randle barely budged.

Kobe's message to Julius Randle: "You f--- this up, you're a really big idiot."

As for Julius, i think calling it like it is, is the best way to motivate him. Im sure he can handle the pressure.

That Randle/Davis combination I like...can't wait until I see Lin out there with those two; that should be fun.

That was an old school block on Exum but it scared the s*** outa me because Randall came down so awkwardly on one leg. Didn't wanna see exum hurt either but if you're a rook and gonna go to the hole like that you're gonna get smacked down on principle.

I'm really interested in this comparison to Charles. That was a good clip too because you got to see Charles run the length of the floor Like we've seen from Randle. Overall Randle's got better handles that Charles but I don't remember what Charles's shot was like right outa College. I 'm also wondering if Charles really favored his right hand compared to Randle with his left. Both are bangers and explosive. Charles had huge legs.

I've said since we drafted him that I really like this kid. He's not "a" beast, he's The Beast, IMO. As in the X-Men's Hank McCoy. He's big, strong, quick, has great agility, long arms, and is extremely smart. Beast_Jim_Lee_art.jpg

I thought the knock was, his arms are "not" that long. Not a huge deal when all of his other beast like attributes are factored in.

Seeing him run the fast break and then dish it off to Ellington yesterday was great, he has speed and quickness on his side and if he utilizes it well he can become a matchup nightmare.

Glad to see as well that blisters seemed not a factor last night. Get the shoes right as others have said and hopefully that little hiccup is over. Unlike other ongoing major hiccups with other key players, regardless of ages.

Good point LT. Or at least his "reach." You're right.
