    Nash is finally earning some $$. It seems he enjoys working with our young guys, so... make him a coach. He's a good guy to have around to teach these guys playmaking and proper shooting technique.

    Randle has the ability to play the SF role; actually, we probably would have tried him out on the position this year, unfortunately, that didn't happen. He could play the perimeter, play from the trip threat positions, and could virtually do anything on the floor from those positions and attack. The only thing he needs is a knockdown jump shot which he's working on...

    That move reminds me so much of Lamar Odom for some reason. A not as long but bigger LO.

    Larry Johnson played sf a lot and I think Grandmama is the closest NBA comparison to Randle.

    If Randle can indeed play sf effectively, I go from not wanting Love to wanting to go all out for him. Can you imagine WCS, Love, and Larry Johnson 2.0 as our frontline for the next 7 years?

    LJ had a stronger core and trunk. Built Ford tough for the paint, but still able to hang on the perimeter. That's a fine balance that even Kobe struggled to find when he attempted to bulk up for post play.

    Randle isn't there yet. He's still young and an eager student, so I'm not saying he can't get there. But there's a lot of work to be done before he's ready for that role or has a similarly efficient build.

    Be a nice role for him if he could pull it off though.

    Can't Wait for this guy to return next year. With the responsibilities that Mitch Kupchak has given him in regards to studying opponents and coming up with game plans he's already going to be ahead of most pros when it comes to the preparation and mental side of the game.

    I know he isn't there yet. I'm just saying LJ, imo, is the closest thing out there. I don't think the Z-Bo comparisons are valid.

    I think LJ. As much of a freak as LJ was, the Chuckster was on another level. Dude was 6'4", tubby, but flew around like a pg at times. Chuckster was amazing in his prime. He just happened to have his prime at the exact same time as #23.

    Yeah. But...... I don't recall LJ being a savant in the open court? That also was one of Chuck's strengths, pulling down a rebound and then pushing the ball up court. Why Lamar keeps being brought up. I do acknowledge Chuck for being a fat boy that could jump out of the gym. But he was just 6'4". Randle takes the floor at 6'8" so (maybe) that nullifies that huge plus for Chuck a little bit and their other skills now look more similar?

    That debate was a solid one and I came up as above LJ for exactly that reason: I think Randle has a great handle for his size. Heck I think he's got a really good handle for ANY size. He's also got good vision to go with it. I think he COULD be better than LJ if he keeps up the hard work.

    Randle can play SF only if we have a stretch four and a rim protector. If Savory is right and we draft WCS and go get Love, then I could see it working. I'd still like to see Randle inside more often and he could absolutely destroy SFs on the block. Love can space for him when that happens and also hit the block occasionally. The paint certainly would get crowded though with Randle AND WCS AND Love...

    But it could work for stretches.

    A lot will fall on Randle in the coming months. Not only do we need him to be healthy, we need him to have a big impact. He won't get the learning curve he should have had this season. It's one thing to watch all these guys play, it's another to actually go up against them. Clarkson will be better than him by the time Randle hits the floor again.

    I've made this sentiment before. A big kid with handles and lefty? Oh yeah.

    Not so much the finesse and smoothness Lamar will have, more of a power game from JR.

    Hey, let's dream a little bit with our draft pick pairing with randle and love. WCS is nice. Towns would have the defense and rim protection but with a go to post option and a jumper to 3pt range. How about a stretch 4 and a stretch 5 to open the paint for randle to punish sfs?
