That push off. C'mon kid it's the one things he's had trouble getting rid of. He's the guard version of Boozer right now.

We got one of the best guards in the draft, period. Add a new pick and a healthy Randle... and you have a recipe for success.

I wonder how high his ceiling is..... he is definitely a natural SG though, with PG skills.
I guess it depends on how well he develops his jumper, defense, and basketball IQ.
I hope he doesn't become a one-dimensional scorer, ie Jamal Crawford, Kevin Martin or JR Smith.

I definitely want him starting next to Kobe next year though.

Also "studs" ...... Ryan West and Jesse Buss. (if Jesse's fingerprints were found at various "scenes" where he was stalking Jordan)

He's got incredible handles. Nothing flashy but very effective in tight spaces. There was another play in the 2nd quarter where he split 3 defenders.

Don't forget Tarik Black and maybe Ryan Kelly too. We have some of the very best young players in the league right now.

The thing that's really impressive is he had that "lull" a few games back and he fought through it and does this. How many rookies have we seen do well, hit a wall, and just not get up.
Ryan Kelly? I know you're Captain Optimism, and with Jordan and the Sixers actually catchable, the optimism has started to rub off on me too. But optimism has limits, dude. Those limits include "Ryan Kelly" followed by "very best" in any combination. ;)

FWIW, I heard it was Ryan's scouting report that really convinced Mitch to take a flyer
Yeah, his handles coming off the pick in roll are effective; he's also becoming very adept has a passer. He shows some nice defensive instincts from time to time, too. There was one possession where he had an excellent stunt on a rotation that threw a wrench in OKC's timing, and he ended up with a steal...

Go check out the Ryan Kelly thread. It's easy to cherry pick that play, but look what he did last night as a PF! He's been played out of position all season long. He's not a SF and we knew that 50 games ago or so. Of course guys like Parsons are going to make him look bad. As a stretch four he has solid potential to be an NBA player. So does Jabari Brown actually. I don't think either of them are stars by any stretch, but both of them could be rotation NBA players.

The last two seasons could see us adding Ryan Kelly, Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson, Jabari Brown, and Tarik Black. All rotation players found either through the draft, as free agents, or through the wires. Finding two of the best players in the draft in Randle and Clarkson is one thing... Finding a gem like Black is another thing. Finding possible roster-filling talent like Kelly and Brown is just next level scouting work. A tremendous job.

Yeah that GIF above isn't fair [IMG] It's clear he slipped on a wet spot. Though not saying had he not slipped he wouldn't still probably gotten left by guy he was covering.

I said your optimism is rubbing off, and Randle/Clarkson/Black is a huge reason why. And Kelly had a decent game last night. But there have been so many inexcusable lapses this year, I can't really get behind him. I was a big Kelly guy in the beginning. You can look over on CL. But the guy hasn't showed much improvement. I realize asking him to guard Lebron on D is completely unfair, but offensively he is regressing. I cringe when he catches the ball in a shooting position. As soon as he catches it, I look at the other 4 guys hoping someone is in position to receive the ball from him.

Yep. Imagine if we get one of the two bigs in the draft this year?

    Okafor
    Randle/Black
    Middleton
    Kobe
    Clarkson

Everyone but Kobe in our starting 5 will be 24 or younger at the start of the season. Unfortunately, Middleton is playing so well now he is playing himself right into a max contract.
