I think Jeanie was off on this one. She should have just acknowledged West's dissatisfaction with her involvement with Phil and moved on. If she laughed it off, it would have gone away. But she chose to make it a cornerstone of her relationship to Jerry. I don't hate on Jeanie for it, but I don't respect her treatment of Jerry either. She messed up.

Yeah definitely think he was. That said, it's not like any teams have stepped forward as I kind of expected a couple years back to move him into a front office position like assistant GM or anything. Last I heard or read last year he was still just a scout level employee of the terrible Pistons. Anyone got anything more recent? You'd think he would have a lot of Jerry's great knowledge and attributes having been around Pops and the Lakers as a tyke through at least some of glory years of the 80s and then the 3 peat and all the scouting he was doing successfully with the Buss kids. He's the guy at near the same age who reportedly picked up Kobe to drive him to that legendary 20 minute "I've seen enough" from Sr. West workout. And without all of Jerry's tortured baggage and surliness later in life. Surprising to me.

It's mostly the same old stuff rehashed, but I guess West also pissed off Kurt Rambis and his wife for hiring Phil Jackson over him! No wonder he never got another chance to come back here. Jeannie and then her BFFs, the Rambi.

It also talked about his close relationship with Toilet man Ballmer and other things like how Kobe's death affected him.

They couldn't have been THAT much alike since Buss had NOWHERE near the financial deep pockets to do whatever the hell he wanted. Though he sure got lucky inheriting Kareem and landing the first round picks that became Magic (due to Jerry overriding West) and Worthy .... for a fairly decent core to build around. ;) Anyway screw Ballmer and Jerry's love affair with him .... just because.

I love it when billionaires get talked about as “philanthropic.”
It’s just tax right offs for most of them.
Anywho, I salute Ballmer for being the Toilet Man of Inglewood!

as an extremely wealthy man myself, I take exception to my generosity being blanket categorized as a tax write off. most good deeds come with no receipt and no ulterior motives

I'll just say f*** Baxter Holmes & ESPN.

I do wish Jeanie would have mended ties with West, though. No reason he should have EVER went to the Clips, IMO.

That said, RIP Jerry. Nobody will every replace or duplicate what you did.

I think it's time we all grew up and put the fault where it belongs. Unless Jerry West was some Bill Cosby in disguise and no one is saying anything, this is at the fault of Jeanie and the Lakers and people need to really start understanding what utter a** clowns Jeanie and Rob Pelinka are. There are several reasons that prove how stupid they are, just pick one and it should be enough.

You're entitled of course but you're out of control with the adjectives and the hate. If we had a healthy complete roster right NOW and had just gone 4-2 in preseason or whatever (entirely possible) with a new head coach that was using that roster properly ..... you wouldn't have anything to blow up every day about. It would be like who cares if YOU don't like Jeanie and Rob. Vando and Wood healthy would have been HUGE to start this new season. But "stupid" << (ridiculous) terrible Jeanie and Rob. Enough!

No, enough. They are bums. Jeanie especially. They've allowed the circus to run their team and I'm hear to call them out until they are gone. They are incapable of doing their job.

Will you eat crow if we get lucky with health and the whole team is back plus newcomers Koloko and Oliveri for immediate areas of need .... and the team is good and playing well ... prior even to a potential trade? Just curious if you'll be man enough or just continue yelling at the clouds with Jeanie and Rob.
