This. The stuff about Pelinka is way blown up. Of course he's made many strong relationships throughout the league. You hear about about a few (notice no names are given) that say they wish we'd get someone else because Rob is hard to deal with? Tough. Good negotiators aren't easy to make every deal with. If he was as hated as the media are making out of course he'd be gone. He is shrewd and smart. Count on it. It was by his design (as unpleasant as it was trading and letting some players walk, there was no other way) that we have a 2nd max slot ready for July 1. Who cares if Kurt Rambis takes the President of Basketball job. It's handling the day to days. This team is being built around Lebron regardless of who is in that post. LeBron knows what is up. The first year "disaster" is just hype. Injuries did us in. The team assembled were on 1 year deals anyways though I didn't hear many complaints in early December before the real injuries started happening. New coach is going to have say in who we put around Lebron and may very well influence who we bring in.
weren't folks saying the same thing bout Jim, i.e. if he was that incompetent he'd be gone before he actually forced Jeanie's hands post Mozdeng?
You know, on the Linda thing. Sometimes people have an extra sense about thing, and I know a guy that would bring his teenage daughter to sit in on future employee interviews because she sensed things about people. Make Linda is a seer. A Shaman. A prophet. Me: Rob, do you know any stories about prophets? Rob: "False prophets will burn in the fires of hell!" Linda:
I'm the opposite. If Kurt sucked as bad an everyone said, or was a cancer, he would be uninvited to even be around. If you are a mildly talented white dude, and aren't super tall, and you carved out a career for yourself in the NBA, you're a hard worker. He might not be super Charisma guy, or super leader, but guys like him and Madsen have a place in the industry because of their abilities. I'd trust that any day over Chaz actually. Phil trusted him as a right hand man. Obviously Linda has earned Jeanie's trust. I'm not ready to trash that quite yet, but I sure am ready for results like most fans. I drank too much coffee. I need to take another Chaz.
All I hear is vague Rob is hated from his days as an agent with no examples of why. Kobe was his premiere client of course after he took over after Arn Tellem and he played for the Lakers. Jeanie obviously doesn't hate Rob and mistrust him. Who are the other players anyone's read or heard ...... that he did WHAT to some team over them? Trying to get his players their highest salaries and strongest strategic bargaining power?
Carlos Boozer is probably a good example of his "snakeish" ways, it was the right thing to do FINANCIALLY but very unethical
Theres a bunch of spin LT, but Ariza and Harden both were repped by Rob and both talked glowingly about dude since the hire. You even have agents that battled with dude talking him up. https://www.google.com/amp/s/hoopsh...cuss-the-lakers-hiring-rob-pelinka-as-gm/amp/
even back then, nobody wanted to play with Lebron tbh and he's my favorite player it was a good career move for Boozer.
what about the story of him passive/aggressive asking everyone in the office if they seen Magic today? or is that here say?
Hearsay? Nothing to do with allegedly being hated around the league. And Boozer was a whole career ago.
Mintz gotta be your favorite, cause you're hellbent in having your recent posts go straight to the gut; ter Anywho, Monty, Lue and even our team titles all appear to be in a holding pattern. Maybe there's more to this story. I do agree that Jeanie does eventually have to make a statement when hires and team titles are finally made.
Love it...thx for sharing! In other news, Bucher on his most recent podcast said the email story is something he believes his source on, but if he was still writing for a paper, he would need more corroborating evidence to even write about it and make it a story...but since it's Bleacher Report, it's clicks away. Btw, he hasn't even seen or been presented with any evidence of these emails.
