well yea thats why he's a "role player"....Mcgee role is to block shots but dont shoot, so if you want a big that can shoot and is a good defender well I dont what to tell you, we sure hell dont have the assets to get this magical big

This is bad, like wow bad. I really like Dwight’s energy off the bench, but it’s getting harder to justify him not starting, which is an idea I laughed at a month ago

Stats are all over the place, and maybe cherry picking is going on, but evidence is mounting.

McGee isnt working out. It was another slow start to the game. I like Dwight off the bench though but you have to consider a change soon right?

I think McGee will be better off the bench too as he's a better fit next to Kuzma/Caruso/KCP and he gets to feast on team's 2nd units.

I hope the change happens - but I also think that Vogel has been very good at pulling McGee quickly and that's going to happen even more now that Kuzma is back.

McGee just hasn't figured out how to play with AD yet. They don't naturally gel like AD and Dwight do, and they get in each other's way offensively and defensively.

However, once Rondo comes back, he's going to be playing big minutes off the bench, and I'm not sure we can afford for Rondo to play big minutes next to McGee offensively. McGee plays his best as a lob threat from LeBron, but I haven't noticed much of a lob synergy with Rondo, because teams don't respect Rondo enough to force him to pass like they do with LeBron.

McGee is useless off ball when he's not the main screener and roller in the PNR action .

Dwight will battle for and get O rebounds and knows how to get behind the defense .

yea but offensively they're both just "lob threats" albeit Dwight still has a few post moves here and there, Mcgee has squat

6 games in, I'm not concerned right now. He'll look better with Rondo.

When folks realize he’s a high burst short minute reserve center, then they’ll shed their anxiety over him. He works best as part of a platoon of centers with high motors and controlled minutes.

He is not a high minute starting center. Whoever told you that...they lied.

he's a 15-20mpg center, like he always has been. the question is whether he fits better as a starter or a reserve. i'm guessing vogel will test it out soon enough. maybe wait for a losing skid or injury, or maybe just to tinker.

mcgee shouldn't be mad when they do test it, though. the team isn't great when he's on the floor, and his backup is playing really well. maybe we find out that the bench role is easier or something. but we need to find out.
